J
Hello. My name is James and I'm a 25-year-old guy who currently resides in St Paul, MN.
I was raised in a non-denominational church and was baptized when I was 13-years-old. But two years later I decided to turn my back on the church. I basically lied to myself and said that I had good reasons for going. But I was really leaving because I never felt like I had a really good connection with God or my church.
Fast forward ten years. After carrying around a lot of anger and guilt for the past decade I decided to go on a trip up to the boundary waters with a group of 19 Christians (3 of whom were my friends, the rest were strangers). After spending 4 days with them I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that God was calling me back into His service. I even felt Him direct me to which church I should attend.
Now, I eagerly attend church every week. I read my Bible on nearly a daily basis and I've gotten into the habit of praying not only for myself but for those in my life as well. I do this not because I feel like I have to. I do it because I want to. Besides, I feel like I owe God quite a bit for those 10 years I decided to run off and do my own thing.
Right now I'm pursuing membership in the very church that God directed me to attend. I'll be signing up for their singles bible study group this September and I'm thinking about joining their tech team.
Anyway, I hope to be around here for quite a while and get to know a lot of you! Thanks for reading!
