This is amazing, I never really thought about this in such a manner before....
I have this devotional thing, and in it there's a thing called Growing Up. So it talks about stuff of course duh lol, but seriously, here's what it says:

Matthew 18:3 And said, verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children: ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven(KJV)

And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."(NIV)

According to Jesus, there's something about a childlike attitude that's essential to admission into heaven.

But wait a minute. Does Jesus mean that we should return to our preschools, Play-doh and Pampers? Not likely. No, Jesus is talking about something else. He's not telling us to be childish-we've already been there. He's telling us to become childlike.

Whare are little kids like? For one thing, they're trusting. They trust their parents love them, know what's best for them and will always be there for them. Many grown-ups are cunical-they dont' trust their lives to others. They figure they know what's best for themselves. And too often they figure wrong.

For another thing, children are innocent. But most little kids try to please their parents, and when they do something wrong, they often regret it, say sorry and move on.

Maybe this is the childlike spirit Jesus is talking about. He wants us to be trusting-to believe that our Father in heaven loves us, knows what's best for us and will alwys be there for us.

Jesus wants us to cherish innocence-to do things that are pleasing to the Father. When we fail, he wants us to seek forgiveness and do better next time. Maybe he wants us to act like children in other ways too-children who are quick to love, quick to forgive, quick to laugh and thrilled with the simple things in life.

So, before you leap into this world's great big race to grow up, just stop for a moment. Turn around. Look back. Ask yourself, "Are there any childlike qualities I'm leaving behind?". God gave you some traits he meant you to keep for a lifetime. And some of these traits are exactly what you need to live forever.

Amazing! I mean...there's so much truth there! No matter our age, a child, teen, young adult, middle aged adult, etc. we should keep this in mind!

God bless everyone!

Okay, not to seem rude or anything, BUT I and most on here take our faith, walk, and relationship with Christ SERIOUSLY and this was meant for a reminder and encouragement, so please refrain from smart comments/jokes like that. Sorry if I come off as rude, I most certainly don't mean to, however this isn't a joking matter. Thanks and God bless.

Wow, I don't even know what to say to that......I'm studying to be in the ministry so I happen to take my faith, walk, and relationship with Jesus VERY SERIOUSLY. This is a forum not a Church service. There are lots of people joking around here....more of that than actual Bible discussions in the chatroom. Just thought I'd be a little light hearted to join in with the fun and break the ice to get to know people....Kidding around is just something I do a lot. Just trying to be myself instead of all serious like most of my posts so far. You can be silly and joke at times without it being some disrespectful blasphemy. Guess I should have said JK and added something positive to the thread, or just not joked at all with people who don't know me. I'm sorry, no disrespect was meant and your post was a beautiful one filled with truth, Stand_Up_4_God.

well it seems to happen a lot on here that when ppl try to be serious it gets crashed with lots ok jokes, and that doesnt make the person who tired to be serious feel too great. that happened with "the dark side" thread in the teen section. these ppl joked about starwars but it was about self injury and stuff. the joking on there really bugged me cuz i used to hurt myself and i know if i was trying yo get hlep and ppl joked around i would feel even worse and want to hide it. and then me and some friends just tried to have a bible study in the bible study room in the chat and ppl crashed it and totally runied it. so its not just you shawn. everyone on here needs to watch what they say and where. i might even be guilty of it but i really hope not. so really no harm done. just everyone should watch what they say!

Stand, you weren't Rude at all don't worry about it. It was MY fault...I joke way too much sometimes. There's a time and place for everything. You guys are right, serious threads are not the place for that sort of thing. There's no need for me to forgive you, I'm the one who was out of place so, sorry!

I hear what you're saying Goth. Some topics and Bible study are definitely to be taken seriously. Especially with something as serious as self injury. I think sometimes people joke to cope with serious things (I tend to joke when I'm actually depressed), but sometimes people are just not treating things as seriously as they need to be.

Once again, my apologies you two.
