Two tools Satan uses to bring those who are free in Christ, is guilt and shame.
It is true that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But those who have been made free by Jesus, are free!!!
So, you were in chains to sin, and Jesus made you free. And he lead you out of captivity. But then Satan would not let you rest. He comes with thoughts of guilt and shame of the past. We should be ashamed of what we did, and we WERE guilty, but that was done when we repented and asked Jesus to cleanse those deeds.
Now you are free. Not free to continue in sin, but free to live free from sin!!!!
And there are some who want to put you in those chains again saying, ''YOU ARE STILL A SINNER LIKE US!!!'' Anyone who does sin is not free, but you were made free because you were forgiven the sin, so it is not on your record.
They say that you will always be a sinner, because they are still in the bondage of sin and have not repented and accepted the gift. But Jesus not only cleans up your old sins, he teaches you to walk as he walked. He teaches you in the perfection that he had. To make you like he was in this earth. Even as the Father was in him, he is to be in us, and us in him.
He protects us from the evil of the world. And YOU are not of the world if Jesus has saved you from the world. Satan wants to use guilt and shame to shame you back into your bondage. BUT YOU ARE FREE!!!!
Jesus Christ has all power to make you free from sin!! To teach you to walk in NEWNESS of life. It is not you that works, but Christ that works in you to the making of a NEW CREATURE!!
Jesus said, ''Behold, old things are passed away, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW!!
So don't let Satan put you in guilt chains of forgiven sins. If you slip, don't go back into sin because Satan likes to turn that into condemnation to fill you with sin like you used to be. Just simply humble yourself and pray for the Lord's help and forgiveness, and protection from falling. YOU have an advocate with the Father, but those who live with unrepentant sins do not.
Now, YOU are saved by grace and not of works, so you cannot boast. But you know that grace is not a ticket to go back into the sin you were saved from. The grace of God teaches us righteousness, and forgiveness. So forgive others also as you have been forgiven, giving the testimony of the grace God has given you. Forgive others their debts and you will be forgiven yours.
Do all things to the glory of God. And more than anything, follow after LOVE of one another and God out of a pure heart.
May Jesus bless you.
