In the earliest days of the war, Hamas reported a massive death toll by a missile hit on a hospital in Gaza. The truth came out that it was a Hamas missile misfire that landed in the hospital car park. The casualty figures were massively overstated. Hamas continues in this campaign of lies and deception, fundamentally because it works. The useful idiots of pro Palestinian demonstrations poisons the minds of ordinary people against Israel.
