Happy Father's Day to our Heavenly Father and to Our Daddies Here on Earth....or In Heaven!

They are worthy of more than just one day/year. Let's start by honoring them today and continue through at least the week .

Please share your Dad with us and anything about the Lord Almighty Who adopted us into His family.

My dad passed recently and I just realized a few hours ago that this is the first first Father's Day that he's not here.
He was a Vietnam vet that suffered from PTSD.

He retired from the military when I was 6 years old. He then worked a few different jobs while I was growing up, mostly custodial / janitorial, and mostly night shift.

I didn't understand when I was growing up why he didn't like 4th of July (I mean, who doesn't like watching pretty fireworks? And celebrating America, especially when their job was military?) or why he didn't like going to events during the day but I understand now. The fireworks triggered the PTSD, (sadly something I don't think he ever recovered from). And events during the day time were technically the middle of the night for him.

BUT, he ALWAYS made sure we had a roof over our heads, clothes on our bodies, and food for our tummies.

The past few months since his passing, I have been having flashbacks / memories of situations and moments spent with Dad growing up that had been long forgotten come flooding through my mind. He was always there, and always rooting for me (even when I didn't know or see it).

I love and miss you Daddy!

I feel your pain . So sorry about your Dad. It's traumatic for those who have a lot of love for them.
Some of us with PTSD have stress hormones kick in at night that keeps us up. It's hard to function on little sleep long term. I might be wrong, but I'm going to guess that's why your Dad likely worked nights.

Those memories are special blessings that he hopes you will share with him when the time comes.

Happy Fathers Day Daddy. I know it is little bit late but I see this forum so I wanted share to.

When I was 5 we were going to get a pizza, that part I remember, That is all I remember but I know someone going wrong way hit us in the front. I broke my collar bone and left leg, punctured my left lung and had some brain trauma that caused swelling in the brain. My Daddy went to be with Jesus that day and I gess Jesus was not ready for me yet so here I am. I am much better now and most problems are healed accept a few things. But this is not about me, it is wishing my Daddy Happy Fathers Day! I will see you again one day and I will not forget you. I love you forever and thank you God for taking care of him until I get to be with him again.

I wish I can tell you more about him but I do not remember very much. I know and remember I loved him very very much and I know he loved me very much. When I say my prayers I always take time to talk to him a little bit to telling him all the things I do that day and things.

Oh and Happy Fathers Day God it is beautiful day thank you.

If any of you fathers out there, I just want to say that you will most directly be responsible for how your kids turn out to be in the future. Make sure you give your family members good memories to remember you by. Especially your kids.

If you want to live lives as you please, don't have kids. Having kids means you take care of them. They deserve the best from their parents. God bless all fathers and mothers
