it was the fall of 2024, i have heard this concert eailer that year, and been wanting to go. Disciple? coming close to me?? this was a good show and i wanted to go. i told my dad about it, just like all fathers, he said lets talk about it when it gets closer.
So i forgot about it.
the following Sunday came, and Mike , my spiritual grandparent at my church, came up and mentioned it to me. "Hey Steven, Disciple is coming to Arlington Virginia." He said this with hope, and excitement in his voice.
i spoke back to him "Yeh, i really wanna go" I said, staring down at the ground. "Ill see what i can do. i see Disciple around one time a year, whenever they're close so, we prob go" Mike told me.
I got happy, and excited. i waited all day at church thinking about it and egar to go home so i can see who else is playing with them.
after Chuch i went home and looked up "Disciple Concert-Arlington Virginia. but something stood out. one of my all time favorite bands were playing, as an opening act, but still kinda co-headline. Ashes Remain. this is a band that i have, all there albums on CD, constianly i was playing them in repeat, and loving there music.. They playing a Show was not as common as bands like Korn. they did it about 1-4 times a year. i was excited and could not wait to see them, but to let the time pass i forgot.
November 9th-2024, came rather quickly, and it was time. many Convosation, and things happened between spring 2024, to late fall of 2024, and i was pumped. but there was also another band playing that show to- one I knew but didn't know much about, but they were stil good. the band was spoken... it was time to leave, so Mike picked me and his brother and son in law up, and 45 min car ride later we arrived at the venune. Grace Church of Arlington. but we didn't just have normal ticket; we had Tour bus Experiance Tickets! this allowed us to get on the bus, before the show and hang out with the band for 30 minutes. this made me estic. the band allowed to to have a Disciple CD of our choise, and a lanurd and a signed poster that wasn't sold anywhere else. they played unrealsed music, and it was awesome.
The bus tour came to and end, and since we did the TBE, we got free into the show. i waited, happy.
we were getting food, at the church (they had a chick-fill-a inside the church) and while i was eating, i saw Josh Smith from Ashes Remain. 'Hey Josh.." i yelled, to get his attention. he turned around, and i walked up to him. "Hey man" Josh said, in a chill happy voice. i could not believe i was meeting Ashes Remain's singer. i took out my What I've Become CD, out of my bag, and asked him to sign the insert. he said sure. we had a good 5 minute convosation about music and how it hepled me, and faith in God.
it was time to go into the show, Spoken was opening. Spoken put on a good show, and i loved every bit of it. i didn't know what he was singing, cause he was just screaming the whole time (needless to say, it was a Christian metal Concert, and the only bands i knew where AR and Disciple...) When Spoken was done, my ears were already abliterated. they closed there set, and now time to wait a little while for Ashes Remain to go on next..
When it was Ashes Remain turn, i made to be be very front row, and i managed to do that.
i saw another member, ryan, Ben, Rob, and Nathan. i had good 5-10 minute conovations with them, that i didn't want to end. but they all signed my copy of What I've Become, and took a picture".
