Hardening of the Israel (Zechariah 7:9-12)

9. Thus hath Yahweh of hosts spoken, saying, Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother; 10. and oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the sojourner, nor the poor; and let none of you devise evil against his brother in your heart. 11. But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they might not hear. 12. Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which Yahweh of hosts had sent by his Spirit by the former prophets: therefore there came great wrath from Yahweh of hosts. (Zechariah 7:9-12)

And it also like in our time now, when people's have harden they heart to not understand the true message of the Bible, because of the man's own desire to follow the lust of them flesh.

You say that you are christians, but why you still follow your own desires, instead that you seek the will of God?

Honest we have to be, if we wish to find.

There is much that we can ALL learn from this Scripture, as with all of God's words to us. 'For all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.'

It is so easy, isn't it, to see the splinter in someone else's eye, and be oblivious to the plank in our own?

I am not sure what is your message for me, but do you think that it will be better situation if no one exhort people's to do good?

Or is my eye better if I do not lead people's to do they best?

Of course not.

I strongly believe that the message of today's people's according to the God's will is; Repent, make the improvement in your life, so that may survive from the coming of wrath.

It was predicted that the last day's will be difficult, and now we are in those last day's, and the time is difficult.

exhortation and encouragement are good things. they work better in person, though, with people we actually know and interact with.

the only 'improvement' we can make in our lives to avoid God's just wrath is to receive the gift of salvation He provided.

the things we do in response to that Great Gift are done for others to care for them and spread the Gospel.

works done in love and gratitude for what God in Christ has done for His own.
 
It seems to me that in just 2 verses, (Zec 7:9-10), Zechariah tells us how love of God should effect our treatment of others. Even if we leave verses 11-12, where God chides Israel, of his day, for falling short; out of the discussion, a comparison of this code of conduct with the way we treat each other on Christian chat leaves much to think about.

As you say, exhortation is a vital part of Christian fellowship, and walking in love one towards another sometimes requires a word in season.

' ... But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day;
lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Thank you for bringing this verse from Zechariah 7, to our notice.

As those who are saved by grace, we will not know the wrath of God, or come into judgement: but, we will have to stand before Christ Jesus our risen Lord, and our walk and witness will be brought into the light of His presence, and we could suffer loss and have cause to feel ashamed, if we have not walked worthily. (1Cor. 3; Eph. 5)

Hi the following verses were also brought to mind.

I have been thinking a lot about humility recently, as human beings don't we
just want to get on our high horse. I read something a while back
which said every time I get on my high horse, Jesus comes along on a donkey.

Micah 6:3-8 NKJV
[3] "O My people, what have I done to you? And how have I wearied you? Testify
against Me.
[4] For I brought you up from the land of Egypt, I redeemed you from
the house of bondage; And I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
[5] O My people, remember now What Balak king of Moab counseled, And what
Balaam the son of Beor answered him, From Acacia Grove to Gilgal, That you may
know the righteousness of the LORD."
[6] With what shall I come before the LORD, And bow myself before the High
God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, With calves a year old?
[7] Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, Ten thousand rivers
of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, The fruit of my body
for the sin of my soul?
