Finally. I hear the people that took over his global radio network are solid and going to use it to spread the Gospel the right way sans-camping false prophecies.
 
r.i.p mr. camping. wanting Christ to return= very good. setting dates for it= very bad.
 
Remember, Mr. Camping said that he was off by a few years. The world can still end anytime now.
 
Mr. Camping was definitely off. First, the world will not end as he thought of "ending". Eventually there will be a new heaven and a new earth. I believe...possibly...he was referring to the rapture...which was another mistake by him and many others. Oh, there will be a rapture...after the tribulation.
 
Mr. Camping never could believe nor did he preach that anyone could know they were saved. This leaves us to wonder about his eternal state. The scriptures teach that we will know false prophets by their prophecies failing.

I wish I could honor him for his service to the Lord but all I have is uncertainty.

In this case by his track record I would say Mr. Camping was over qualified as a false prophet.

Yeah, there's no way the earth can end in a few years. If anyone's ever read revelations and Daniel, there will be a 7 year tribulation. After that there's a 1,000 year reign of Christ on the earth. AFTER that is judgement day and the new heaven and new earth are made. So whatever the case is, we will always have *at least* 1,007 years left before the earth is destroyed (that's at the start of the tribulation, which we are not in yet).
 
i should just point out that harold camping actually repented after his last prediction did not come true...he even made a statement calling his prediction sinful...and admitted that his critics were right in directing him to the verse about nobody knowing the day or the hour of jesus' return...
 
Sad day anyone dies, I hope his family's wounds heals from this death. I didn't know this man so I won't judge him, I hope he had a very good life on this earth and wish him the best for eternity. I do think it's a shame when people mock the dead like I see so often on this site, but that's just me

He did repent but it's hard to forget the harm caused by his irresponsible predictions. I'm willing to bet thousands may of believed his date setting debacle. There were stories of people spending money, charging credit cards and being plain irresponsible. Some of those foolish people may of lost their homes.

So far every single date that Christ would return has failed. It blows my mind that some people will be so easily fooled.

My daughter in law was in California working when Camping's group started flooding the highways with bill boards, and the radio waves with his false prophecies.

She phoned me and I had to give her a bunch of scriptures to calm her down. That is fear mongering, and it was false. So tired of this false prophecy, predictions etc of Jesus coming tomorrow stuff.

That whole organization should be broken up and the money they accumulated given to the poor after what they did. They shamed the name of Jesus!

And what sort of prophet doesn't know the prophecy about not knowing the hour or time of Jesus return? A prophet who does not read the Bible!
