oh wait... I will say this though:

you can post every verse in the Bible but since I am not speaking under the influence of a demon, they will have no effect

this is not what Paul meant when he said put on the armor

and it is not how Jesus sent the devil on his way either when He was tempted in the wilderness

Jesus said that if He cast out demons He was not doing so by the power of the devil. the devil is not out to defeat himself

ok...that's it. :giggle:

Amen

he already said no one can change his mind

he attacks us for not being willing to discuss, when it is him who is not willing to discuss

that makes him a hypocrit of the nth degree.

I have learned that until people are ready, and sometimes sadly never, it is just a waste of time to press it

especially people already under the influence. but I mean plenty of folks just come here and read so maybe someone will benefit

the Holy Spirit will do all that He can in those who are willing and ready to give up their own mindset. this is not at all easy because it might mean letting go of things you really really believed

but again, it's a truth battle and not a power struggle

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies

1 Peter 5:8
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion
looking for someone to devour.

John 10:10
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full

3 John 1:2

2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

Titus 1:7-8
7 Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. 8 Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.

Galatians 5:21
21 and envy; drunkenness (unsound mind), orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Jude 1:23 23save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear-hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh

awww...big hugs in Jesus to you Rosemary. I have a European background (upbringing) and honestly the attitude to wine is just very relaxed. As children, we had some wine mixed in our ginger ale at celebrations...just to feel like an adult I guess... and I never saw anyone drunk or even tipsy...meaning adults.

I absolutely agree about abusing alcohol. But I wonder how many would like to discuss abusing food and eating waaay too much and becoming fat and thinking that's ok. I don't see much of a difference there but I have hardly ever heard anything about eating too much or being a glutton...but folks sure do like to jump on alcohol or a single glass of wine or beer

I just shake my head at the hypocrisy.

BTW, nothing personal to you regarding the food thing...I'm just voicing some thoughts. But I love your honesty and I hope to see you face to face one day and give you a big ole hug and tell you that your posts were encouraging and a great witness for how God is faithful and works in our lives
I love you sis ((( Hugs )))

Yes I agree again , all of us have indulged in something to much , yet alcohol seems separated , and a bone people like to pick at...

Amen, gossip is self serving. It’s not loving others, and from what I have witnessed 99 percent of the time, the gossip subject is not even accurate

1 Peter 5:6-11 6Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 8Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 10And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 4:12

New International Version

Can you state in my post where I claimed simply "believing" will save anyone?

Thank you
Its implied in your reply that people who BELIVE on Christ must indeed make heaven, else its just WORKS, (which its not).

Yep he will. Those who try to earn salvation by works will attempt to show God all their works as a means of salvation. And jesus will say HE NEVER KNEW THEM.

This means they were NEVER SAVED! for if they were saved. Jesus lied. because he did know them at one time
If they have works, they will have faith. What you really mean is those who THINK they have works, but really don't. As James said, I will show you my faith by my works. You see, they can't do that because, in truth, they have NO WORKS. They buried their talents in the sand.

ok. Your fighting against licentiousness. I agree. these people have never been saved. Because mere believe never saved anyone

However, You claimed people could lose salvation. that it is not assured. Can we please discuss this?
No, I didn't I stated God knows WHO is saved because he knows the future, but many who THINK they are saved NEVER WERE. Tennessee was never winning, they were head 17-0 while LOSING !! Do you not get that concept? Since God knows the future, no one who doesn't make it to heaven can ever say they were saved. Thus if you truly were saved (which ONLY God can know) then you can't lose it or you were never saved, you were living while condemned in the future, thinking you were saved but your heart loved evil more than God. Being saved means you are saved from damnation, if you wind up in hell you were NEVER SAVED, if you make Heaven you were always saved because of your faith, thus you sought to emulate Christ Jesus and to submit to His righteousness and love.

It may sound like semantics, but you cant be saved and ten go t hell or you were never saved, you just THOUGHT you were saved.

Now if you want to change the verbiage to living for Christ on earth, then I can say yes, people can repent, tirntomGod, then turn away from God, but you were never saved, in fact its a horrible tag tbh, no one can actually be saved until they die, a week from someone's death the could renounce Jesus. But God knowing all, can of course see his sheep ahead of time.
