you ever felt like people hate you? just because they dont like what they see, physically?
been through that!!!!!! if not because of God's grace, i would've been crazy by now

Yes, I've felt that way before. In fact I still feel that way sometimes. I even felt that some were laughing behind my back. Its one of the worst feelings in the world.

Guys,

I am old, and I am really ugly (well not very handsome, anyway). I know what it is like to worry about your looks and, believe me, from what I can see, you guys are both beautiful. The kitten is pretty cute too; I just love that picture. :)

The secret is, and it ain't easy, is to learn to see yourselves as God sees you. You are His precious children. You are perfect in His eyes. You turned out exactly the way He intended you to. No wonder the psalmist could say, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." (Psalm 139:14)

And believe me, if anyone ever looks down on any of you because of your appearance, they are just showing their own ignorance and stupidity. Remember, as Christians we are taught to put wordly things aside, and if ever there was a "worldly" attitude, it is the obsession on physical appearance as a measure of a person's worth.

God bless you all.

If you are saying you don't feel you are attractive you ARE crazy. You are a beautiful woman!

Also, everyone has insecurities. You will never see me say that I think I am pretty, but I also know that what truely matters is what is inside. I also tell myself that if someone doesnt like me for whatever reason they are not forced to be around me.

You're gorgeous, dont EVER get down on yourself like that!!! Tell yourself every morning that you are beautiful inside and out. It's true.

Besides, looks fade.... none of us are going to look as good as we do now 30 years from now.

I don't think I could turn you down, Beth. If I did, its because I know you'll just be disappointed with me. I'm just a big screw up. :/

i feel uglier everyday.. feels like am getting one year older everyday

Elizabeth is right :) You are beautiful. We all are beautiful in our on way :)

So what-that you don't look like a model from magazine's cover!? You are who you are :) Don't focus on your look so much. Don't compare yourself to others. :)
Be glad that you can live on this earth. Do something that you really like. And just-enjoy your life :)

I take my wisdom from Song of Solomon. When the Shulamite says she is "dark but lovely", it is her way of acknowleding her 'flaws' while also seeing her worth, value, and beauty, which is what we should all do, with the eyes of God. There is no such thing as 'ugly'. God delights in every person He has made and He considers us beautiful/handsome. :)

I once began a journey about acknowleding my beauty. This was to be physical beauty, later to turn and look at inward beauty. I rushed into inward beauty due to my readers having a hard time seeing themselves as beautiful and so the journey ended prematurely. I would love to start it up again...or anew...but God has not allowed me to do so and without Him it isn't going to work.

You can see the blog here: INFUSE ME WITH BEAUTY

Don't believe the lies of the world. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and God is the one beholding you!

I'm the one who calls the shots here on CC..

And i'm officially saying no one on CC is ugly  :D

Dear friend,

I know that when you feel the way you do, it is hard for anyone to change your mind. But I want you to think about something. I saw on your profile that you joined Christian Chat to talk about how "great and awesome God is".

That is very true, and He loves you! He made you. He "knit you together in your mother's womb". To say that you are ugly is the same as saying "God made a mistake". And God never makes mistakes. I recall seeing a poster that came out about a generation ago. It showed a little boy who looked very much like a street urchin; sort of disheveled, kind of dirty around the edges. And the caption was, "I know I'm ok because God made me. And God don't make no junk." (emphasis added)

You are far from ugly! No matter what anyone is telling you, you are a beautiful young woman beloved of God. Try to connect with Him and let Him show you how lovely you really are.

God bless you and keep you.

Those are very kind words you said, and so true.

I can't help but come back to this thread. As I read the responses of some I am saddened.
What makes someone beautiful? Their physical appearance? No. It doesn't.

A woman who serves the Lord and dedicates her life to him,is what makes her beautiful. Also, if she is loving to others, and a good Chrisitan example her real beauty will shine. Real beauty only comes through Christ. Not with lipstick, and mascara, Not with crash diets, and beauty magazines.

I would reccomend every female read Proverbs 31. It gives great insight on how a God fearing beautiful woman is.

Also, for those that are probably thinking inner beauty doesn;t get you attention from boys or a husband or whatever.... it does. Physical beauty fades, but inner beauty is always with you.

I myself wish there was physical things about myself I wish I could change. I am 5'11, and I wish I were shorter. I wish I wasn't so pale. I wish I had green eyes, and not brown eyes. I wish I was thinner. I wish I didn't have freckles, or psoriasis and rosacea(skin disorders)... I could keep going on and on and on....but... this is how God made me. I may not be some gorgeous bombshell, but I am far from ugly. I am a Christian woman who is a loving mother, daughter, friend, and so on. That is what makes me beautiful. Not my physical characteristics. I am far from perfect, and I make tons of mistakes, but one thing about me is(and some may find this hard to believe) I don't care what someone thinks about my physical appearance... If that is all they can notice about me then they are shallow and not worth my time. I want someone to find me attractive in a Godly way.

Oh wow, I just rambled on.... hope all that makes sense.

Being human, we'll always have those times of insecurity... of thinking that we're somehow not up to par with what society deems is "beautiful". I'm sometimes attacked by those insecurities as well. I tend to look at a pretty person and think, "I'm so plain!" or "How can I compare to that?"

Friend, from your posts I see that you love God. Do you believe that He loves you too? He created you in His image, my dear. Isn't that something wonderful? Doesn't that mean you're beautiful? Society creates impossible standards. Spurred by the Evil One, it makes you feel inferior, when in fact real beauty cannot be measured by the inches of the waist, the height, or the color of the skin. Real beauty is how you perceive yourself, and how God perceives you. You are beautiful, unless YOU think you're not.

I pray that you would be able to see your beauty too. Remember, you are only ugly if you think you are. And thinking you are ugly only gives others license to see you as ugly... It's a vicious cycle. One where I hope we'll all be free from.

When in doubt, remember God and His love. Bless you! :)

I'm not only feeling ugly right now, but I'm feeling that people in general are ugly too, and i don't mean physical appearances. I'm talking about the way they think and the way they treat others.

zero ! no one is perfect ... it happents .... i met in my life alot of ppl tht played negative role in my life , but thanks to it a learn to appreciate those who r nice to me .... i dont have many , but i value the quality of those ppl ... and learn something when i meet someone who was negative towards me ..

I personally think that people are naturally inclined to an ugly nature, and being good is a conscious effort. As Christians, we do more than our own effort, our Heavenly Father helps defeat that rottenness too... :)
