I have this... I guess you could say former best friend, known him for 4 years. We used to hang out a lot, share stories, help each other, used to go to the same church, give each other advice, etc. 4 months ago he promised he was going to stay in touch with me, and he hasn't talked to me since. We did see each other at a mutual friend''s wedding a couple weeks ago. He went around to various tables chatting with people, but didn't say squat to me. It's clear to me that he wants nothing to do with me, as he's had plenty of time for his other friends, hosting bonfires, and plenty of free time for the other things he enjoys. That stuff doesn't even bother me, I've moved on. I now how a group of friends that love having me around and often are asking me and inviting me to stuff. I've told myself I forgive him, and yet I can't seem to get it out of my mind, and I occasionally find myself getting angry about how he basically just abandoned me. How can I let go of this anger?

Seriously, it's a great question
to ask to others.
I've no answers to give you,
I have still difficulties to forgive others,
like family, false friends, etc

I understand how it feels for someone to just leave and walk away. It hurts a lot and that pain gets converted into anger over time. To say you forgive him is easier and to actually forget... I just want to share this one quote that really helped me in forgiving a person who hurt me once- "Forgiveness is opening the prison door and setting someone free, but realizing you were the prisoner all along."
I guess it means that the longer you hold on to that anger and unforgiveness, the longer you'll remain bounded by it..
Ask God to help you let go and forget.. And trust me, He will...
My prayers are with you sister! :-)
Stay precious...!!

Trust me, I've done all that, and I know how important it is to forgive others. I know what the Bible says about it, heck I've taught kids about this subject numerous times. I've been praying about it, and I still can't get past this.

Hmm... It's tough... It takes time... Don't force yourself because it's not gonna work. Just continue to pray though, don't stop. Forgiveness will come.. I believe it!

Forgiveness takes time given our sinful nature. I would suggest that at times when you feel that anger towards the person for abandoning you that you pray. I am currently in a situation where I am trying to forgive a former friend for not being a good friend and what works for me in moments of anger as well is, I ask myself if God deals with my wrongs the way I am dealing with my former friend where would I be? Better days are ahead keep praying.
