It's getting really hard for me to believe that He'll send me one. Not too long ago I believed with all my heart that He had finally sent me the woman He made just for me only to be crushed when she dumped me. She didn't even love me enough to tell me herself or give any explination as to why we couldn't work this out, just told a friend of mine to say that she was fine and moving on and that I should stop contacting her. It crushed me and even now, around 6 months later, it still hurts and I still feel bitter towards her. I truly believed that all the signs God sent pointed to her being the one only to find out that apparently I was reading them wrong the entire time. I've been praying and praying that He would send me the right woman but so far, zilch. I'm getting to the point that I'm wondering if there even is a woman out there for me.

God never promised us a woman nor a woman a man. Some will not have anyone and they will be blessed for it. However those are few so keep trying ^_^

Adam:
I feel your pain brother. My gf dumped me too. Many people start out with good Christian idelas but when the rubber meets the road some people begin to make exceptions to Gods word or they have their own interpretation of God's word. Mine thought since we had been dating for over 6 months and since we are older (over 50) sex before marriage was ok. Anyway it became put to me "put out or get out". Now we are apart and I hurt but I know there will be a woman that believes in following Jesus with exception somewhere out there. He knows your needs. He knows mine. I'll wait for her to come around.

Proverbs 18:22
He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the LORD.

While you shouldn't be completely bent on having a girlfriend, you also shouldn't wait around hoping a godly woman will appear. But sometimes the sayings: "Good things come to those who wait" and "You'll find someone when you stop looking" are true.

Also, sometimes we want potential partners to have certain traits or qualities personality-wise but we tend to overlook someone who, while they probably posses these things, isn't exactly what we consider "attractive." So it's possible that there is someone in your life that would be an excellent partner for you, you're just overlooking her.

I'm not trying to put God into a box but if I'm still single when I turn 29, I'm going to go on an Epic Adventure wherever I believe she is hiding.

"He who FINDS a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord."

Happy Hunting =)

I hope you are still single at 29.. That's a love story any girl would die for.. :) ..

It does suck trying to find "the one"... I have trouble believing there's only one perfect person for everyone... God gave freewill right? So, we make choices in life.. And we hope that God has prepared us enough to make WISE choices.. Relationships that don't work out make us stronger, they make us realize what we want, and don't want, what we need, etc... More importantly, we learn more about ourselves.. like the fact that I am more like my mother than I ever wanted to be relationship-wise, and I need to work on that... or whatever it is for you..

The funny thing is, there are single people all over the world asking the exact same question.. I'm sure there are many girls out there that would be perfect for you, but not every potential relationship makes practical sense..

I heard somewhere, I think it was from Tommy Nelson's Song of Solomon sermons, that the way you find your mate is to run after God as hard as you can, and when God says it's time, you look beside you and you see who is running in stride with you, and that's the one you're supposed to be with.. There's no point pining after the idea of someone.. Live your life to the fullest, serve God, be happy with who you are and what God has given you and some girl is going to find that you are exactly what she needs..

I know it's hard to be patient sometimes, but believe me.. it's do-able. The best thing you can do now is to take advantage of being single. Yes, take advantage of it. There are SO many things you can do now that you can't when you're dating or married. Take this time to spend time with the guys and do things you've always wanted to do. Even better, you can take all this free time you have and direct it towards serving our Lord. I guarantee you that while you're having fun and serving God, He'll bless you and send a beautiful Christian girl to you when you least expect it. :)

I understand what you are all going through. Sometimes you long so much for the feeling of having a companion that you can love and be loved by. But don't let that be the goal of your life, because if we make that our goal then we miss our whole purpose. The purpose of our lives, believers and non-believers alike, is to bring glory to the Creator of the universe. Unlike the woman of our dreams who really isn't perfect, God is perfect and He loves us with a love that is perfect. He will never betray you, and He will never condemn you, or accuse you. Instead He offers His mercy, His grace, and His will for your life. And trust me, the will of God is much better than the will of the wisest man, because the Creator of the universe wants to be glorified in you. THAT should be the goal of our lives, and when we aim to this goal we will understand that everything else on this earth (marriage, food, diversions, and all people and objects) are all temporary. And to live a life in thankfulness and contentment let's recognize that we will take to the next life only what we did for Christ on this earth.

God Bless you all!

well.. I will just tell you, do not stop dreaming and of course put some action ... meet new peop.. maybe you will find her not the so called "one"... I think in this world of imperfection, there is nothing like the one. I don't believe that anymore, that can only bring frustration. I have gone to single events and I have heard so many good sermons about this subject. The best you can do continue praying. believing, be involve in church and time will be your best friend.

Adams, hang in there, there are enough single ladies who feel that they will never get the kind of man there hearts desires. Pray for a divine connection. God is faithful. As for the one who dumped you, well, she was not the one.

@ Liamson, hahaha!! Lets wait and see.

Thanks for the encouragement y'all and Liamson, I already hit 29 so perhaps I should start on that adventure myself?

Hahaha!!! Adams, maybe try doing something different and you will find her. God is faithful.

I would love to say yes BUT, this is kinda of a me thing. You would probably be too big of a distraction. We would just wind up galavanting through weird places flirting the whole time.

I'm hoping she doesn't die for it. That would be tragic.

YES!!!
29 really isn't that old.
I would recommend Ireland, Israel, Brazil and Colorado Springs (Protestant Mecca).

Part of me wants ta go ta Heber Springs, Arkansas but I don't think that would be a good idea. My "ex" lives there. I seem ta be over the bitterness but I don't know. Part of me wants us ta get back together but another part thinks it might not be a good idea. I've been praying that she is the one and that now is just not the right time but I always end it with 'let Your will be done'

Nooooo.. Don't pray for her to be the one.. Dumps you through a friend of yours? Can't even tell you to your face? That is not wife-material.. Do not waste another minute pining after her. I have a friend who has pined after this girl for 7 years... I keep telling him how awful it's going to be when he finds his wife and has to tell her all about this girl and how he always thought she was the one and he wrote a million songs about her, and never gave up on the idea of her.. That is REALLY difficult for a woman to get past.. To be the girl that came after the girl he really wanted to be with? ugh.. If you are smart you will not let her take up another thought. Move on.. Let her go so that your heart can be open to someone else.
