We can believe that we are "in Christ" now and that He says the Holy Spirit will be with us forever and that He would never forsake us. We have the same faith as our father Abraham does - we too are believers in what God says about Himself, others and ourselves.

Do we trust God or not?

Those that do have entered his rest. And are no longer working.

Those that do not. Fear salvation may be lost (because of their lack of faith in God) So they have to have faith in themselves (work) and have not entered his rest.

The jews did not enter rest

1. Because they chose religion and tradition over Christ
2. Because they misread the law. and thus did not see their need for Christ the savior
3. They were not convinced of the Christian way, So they chose both (grace plus works)

The ones who had faith in God.. Well their faith is in a trustworthy God.. God will keep his promise to them no matter what Satan says to try to discourage them. and get them to walk away.
