There are lots of places in the world where Head covering is an issue, some do and some don't. Here in America, aside from Muslims, Hutterites , Amish and others do it, but most Christians do not. I wonder how they decided that? In my experience, despite 1 Cor. 11:5 most women do not. It is a puzzlement to me, though I have no judgement in the matter.

Well if we really MUST go down this road... can't we walk down it in the Bible Discussion Forum? That's where they like to argue about this stuff. o_O

Yeah, I know, Misc. Forum is for misc. stuff, so it's hard to say "this should go in another forum." :cautious:

First Corinthians chapter 11 refers to hair, not cloth. Context, context, context.

I know of groups that use a symbolic covering all the time, not just at prayer.

So do I. That doesn't change what the Bible says.

Im a hat person

I just like them. I dont care if nobody else is wearing. a hat, I will wear one and sometimes I cant be bothered taking it off even inside.

Also, they keep the sun off and your head cool, if you wear the right one
and beanies keep warm in winter.

While hoodies and headscarfs also offer extra protection in the rain

I suspect that once women discovered hair dye and wigs, they just wanted to show off their hair maybe.

with embroidery, pearls and 'costly array' as KJV says....I dont know maybe they didnt have good hairdressing back in the day. Maybe everyone had awful bowl cuts.

I think it would not matter if it was not somehow rooted in pride. It would be a rule a law.But they, i suppose are to be under grace.

I think the importance of hair and covering it has been lost somewhere

its crazy how you cant find a good bonnet these days

There must have been a time when everyone wore hats or a head covering to a time when hardly anybody did but I am not sure what changed.

The 1950s or 1960s.

There are several Hutterite Videos on YouTube just now, and I think I like them considerably more than what I see in regular American culture. Their garb and manner are better in my opinion.

well you can ask them for a pattern and make one I suppose

The only time Ive seen people wear bonnets here are if its a live day at a musuem or a costume play/film set.
