Follow Jesus, not a religion. He desires relationship, and I can attest to the fact that God will answer prayers where animals are concerned. One of my Labradors got out while I was at work, and my neighbor came and told me they found him dead in my backyard. I went home, buried him and then spent the rest of the day at my brother's. When I came home that night I could not find my cat, Whitey. He was an indoor cat, and one of my other dogs had put a hole in a window as screen. Whitney was that rare cat that actually came when he was called. I looked everywhere inside and out calling his name. He was gone. I stood out on the front yard and looked up at the night sky and told God I could not handle 2 in one day. I asked Him to bring Whitey home. I went inside and Whitey meowed at me from the kitchen doorway. God answered my prayer.

Thank you so much and I am so happy that God brought your kitty home. I was raised Lutheran. I don' t go to church anymore but I love our God and Jesus so much. Watching different religious videos just makes me wonder which is correct? In my heart I know that all I need is God and Jesus.
You do need to be part of a church body for your benefit as well as theirs. We are the body of Christ. If your foot was separated from your body, could it function? It's the same way with your spiritual body. Fellowship is essential for growth. I would recommend Allen Jackson as far as online teachers. He is grounded in the Word and is not afraid of speaking truth. Forget about denominations. Denominations are a divisors and God never intended for them to exist. No matter what name is on the door if Jesus is the way, they are part of the body of Christ. If ANYONE teaches that you need Jesus AND anything else-that is a toxic faith. Stay away. Sift everything through the Word. Make sure that everything lines up with Scripture and is taken in context. Feel free to ask questions if you are not sure about something. Be blessed.
