Hearing the voice of the Creator directly from His mouth:
Many people interpret this and others verses of the Holy Scripture in a figurative way (as if this was saying for us hearing His voice through the Holy Scripture, pastors, etc.). Although the Creator can speak through several ways, we, as descendants of Abraham by faith (Gal 3:29), have to be friend of the Creator (recall that he was call His friend – Isaiah 41:8; James 2:23).
Jesus for twelve times exhort His Body to hear the voice of the Creator (Matthew 11:15; 13:9,43; Mark 4:9; Luke 8:8; 14:35; Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22). Paul said that the words that come out of His mouth is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17), which He uses to penetrate unto our conscience which, in turn, keep our soul and spirit divided (Hebrews 4:12).
We can’t ignore that the word that come out of the mouth of the Eternal isn’t something apart from Him (such as our words are). Our words, most of the times, are empty, hackneyed. Nevertheless, the Creator has a perfect identity with His words (namely, Jesus Christ – John 1.1). And, once only the Creator “IS” (Exodus 3:14), therefore His words are what define the reality compassing us.

How can we hope to be successful without knowing Jesus’ plans for us? From whom we expect to hear this if only He know this and didn’t reveal to anybody (not even to the angels), but it is something inherent to His friendship?
So, don’t conform in not hearing His voice. Have a good day moved by His voice every time, and not only once a year like the high priests of the Old Testament (Hebrews 9:7). What many prophets and righteous desired and couldn’t see, is available to you (Matthew 13.17). What are you biding?
