Just wondering, when it comes to "matters of the heart", has anyone else experienced this situation where your heart draws you strongly into one direction while your mind tells you something different, and how do you deal with this?

1) Assess the situation
2) Develop multiple plans of action
3) Evaluate the consequences and benefits of all the possible
4) Create a strategy
4) Execute the strategy
5) Reflect on the outcome - did it reach your expectations? etc.

I used to go against the good reasoning in my head and go with my heart. Then the whole thing would blow up in my face. Heres what I learned. Part of the growing up process is learning to control our emotions and feelings. If you watch a child they will laugh easley and cry easley . They react to their emotions. A muture person will make a decision by thinking things thru and leaving their emotions out of it.unLike a shopahaolic who will buy any thing they want. not useing their brain that they over spend, run up credit cards and bounce checks. Some times going with our heart can cause us problems.
Im courius to know what was on your mind that you asked this question.

That is good DOGMA. I wish I understoud problem solving that good when I was your age.

Get to the Word !
And test the ways of your heart!

If your walk in faith is strong, then you can trust your heart because if God doesn't want you to be with that person He will make it clear to you. But, if your walk with God is weak, then you must strengthen your walk (be more obedient, thankful and prayerful) before entering any relationship. God bless.

"Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
(Joshua 1:8-9 NIV)

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
(Isaiah 41:10 NIV)

For me, it's important that my brain and heart balance one another out. I don't want to enter into a relationship because it's the logical thing to do or because someone meets all of the criteria on a specific list, but neither do I want to allow my heart to blind me to issues God doesn't want in my life. It is then that I look to my spirit and trust God to guide me, rather than my own faculties.
