The very real bottom line, no matter how many endless paragraphs and opinion pages cults use to twist scripture into a pretzel, the Lord Jesus taught in Luke 16 a very real place of torment the rich man went to on death. God does not teach error, ever. Jesus Christ, when warning of hell, was not warning of sleep, this so obvious. And the apostle Paul stated that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, as well as expressing the desire to leave this earth to be with the Lord, not sleep.
Soul sleep or annihilation are cult teachings, the likes of Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh Day Adventists. If you wish to get errant theology from cults, with the likes of extra-Biblical false prophets like Charles Russell or Ellen G. White, thrown in Joseph Smith, this is a personal problem one shouldn't be loading off on to others.

Or perhaps Jesus, Paul and the Apostles were as you say, cultists.
