I'm not sure if this is the proper place for what I'm about to say, but here goes anyway. I've been a member of CC for over a week now. On the whole it's been a good experience and most people are more than willing to answer my questions. That's why I think it's appropriate now (although I already introduced myself in the "new members forum") to tell a bit more about myself. Please do not debate what I'm going to say, or swamp me with bible texts, although I do appreciate the intensions of some of the people who shared passage with me. An apology is in order too, to all the people who wrote me wonderful pm's and comments in my threads, to which I didn't respond. English isn't my first language and it just takes me a lot of time to properly respond to such messages. I do read and appreciate them though.

My profile says I'm "not sure" if I'm a christian or not and that's correct. I come from a catholic family and I was raised a christian, but in a way "believing in god" never was a big thing in my family. My parents would take me to church, but from the age of 12 I wasn't obligated to go with anymore. My primary school was christian (mixed protestant/catholic) too, but that was only in name: 1 hour a week of "Bible Study" that was about it. At age 14 I didn't consider myself a christian anymore, not an atheist either, more like an indifferent. That changed at age 16 when I got more interested in philosophy and religion in general. A lot changed in my life then, I lost my grandfather and fell in love for the first time. The object of my desire was my best friend, which at the time was very confusing for me. After a nervous break down I came out to my parents, who were very understanding and loving. That helped me to come out to my friends aswell, and most of them were very understanding too, even the friend I had fallen in love with. Our extensive talks helped me understand the irrationalty of my feelings: he really isn't into guys. But we're still good friends.

So now I'm here, but no worries I'm not here to "push the gay agenda," and certainly not the catholic one, I mean, I don't even consider myself a christian atm. I just read the forums and try not to offend anyone. I'm in for a good conversation, willing to learn and open for new ideas. Just a guy trying to find his way in the world, at times confused, sometimes lonely, but mostly happy in all possible meanings. ;)

Thank you.
