Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Use this scripture as a check list when you hear a conversation, see something or thoughts that come to your mind. If it does not agree, reject them, don’t dwell on them, it could build up into something worse

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Its through the mind we process on the things we see, hear and think on then a decision is made through the heart.
Our character is the reflection of our emotions through the heart, The helmet of salvation protects from us from allowing wrong things entering the heart, when we in-line those things with the Word of God

This can be done, providing the Cross is the Object of our Faith, which then gives the Holy Spirit latitude to help us.

Very useful advice.

The work of the cross...not the cross itself you mean?
