Faith sometimes make us believe things that are impossible and in total contradiction with what we see in nature. For example, some people believe the earth is just some thousands years old, that the earth is the most important place in the universe, that the earth could have stopped rotating, that all forms of life are designed perfectly and they haven't changed in time, and even some very ridicule things like that dinosaurs and humans have coexisted before the flod, etc

That's because for some people believing doesn't need any fundament or evidence. This kind of faith is a very damaging one, it don't allow us to think crittically, because we are not allowed to doubt. It even make us feel comfortable in ignorance by denying scientific facts we know little about.

Science and religion are there to answer fundamental questions. Science does it by the careful analisys of the evidence of nature. Religion does it by inventing those answers and promoting an irrational mentallity that chains us to those "absolutes truths"

Id appreciate some links to books/websites that can better explain the connection between science and religion. Im mostly confused about young earth vs. old earth. I have no problem believing that the big bang could have been Gods way of creating the universe, but when it comes to the age of the universe, religion and science vary greatly.

Also, the connection between dinosaurs and humans. As far as i know there is no direct mention of dinosaurs in the bible, yet its impossible to deny that they existed.
I used to wonder and question this alot myself when younger, one of the many I looked to was that science says the earth is made up from different parts of what was in the universe, maby many other possibuilitys?
I finnally came to see a simple answer that has kept me satisfied.

Science is simply mans best explanation for God's creation.

When you consider that man is God's creation, how can we even begin to think we can understand what came before us? :)

God bless

when i was growing up my grandmother would say ' all ladies are women but not all women are ladies' i think we could just about say the same thing here. all of the science as it pertains to the One True and Living God is 100 percent true and totally aligned with the Creator that created it. it is impossible for true science to have any conflict with true religion whatsoever. however....not all science is able to be so aligned because it is man's science and the science of demons which are speculative and in some cases outright lies in total contradiction to God's holy truth
Im sorry that really just boggled me.

Its impossible for science to have conflict with religion? What about the big bang and evolution? We have fully naturalistic explanations for these and that means you god is not needed. So im sorry but there is some conflict.

There's no such thing as man's science, it's just science. Its a set of observation over the evidence and then the verified theories to back it up.

What you call truth is simply an opinion with no reasonable basis. Truth is best found using the scientific method because it's the best possible explanation for the phenomenon.

I don't understand some people in here. I get crapped on because god is metaphysical and not physical and to think he's physical is such bogus. Now you say science 100% points to god, meaning he is physical. Make up your mind then make your case. Changing your stories every time a good point is made is the reason im not convinced of this god. Firstly science does not claim 100% certainty, it provides the best answer based on the evidence. And that's another issue. Your claim has to be true, yet science has the balls to say it could possibly be wrong. I mean, get back to reality.
