The whole point of Calvinism is we can do nothing by ourselves. Its God who does everything for us.

Its God who created us, its God who calls us, its God who gives us Salvation, and its God who takes us home to be with Him.

Most people hate Calvinism because they hate the Truth that they are not in charge. They want to believe it was by everything they have done that they will enter into Heaven, not what God has done for us.

Protestantism is based on Calvinism. Protestantism is a watered down version of Calvinism.

It is ironic how even those who say they despise "Calvinism" are, themselves, heavily influenced by Reformed doctrines. Albeit inconsistently.

And it's God who chooses not to save some. He decided from the beginning they never had a chance. No thanks.
 
I prefer the NASB to read & study, but the NKJV is good also.

As far as internet studies, be careful..... many are trying to tell you what to think instead of how to study the Bible
 
Actually God already knew in the beginning who would reject Him. So yes John146, God knew from the Beginning those who would reject Him. So how is it the fault of God when someone rejects Him?

How do you know for a fact God never gave these people the chance to accept Him? Are you trying to play God here?

WHO are you to say God never give them the opportunity to accept Him as their Savior?

I am so glad to know you are greater than God! That you have JUDGED God and have condemn God!

Who are you to call God a liar!

I am inclined to think a correct understanding of Daniel's 70 Weeks stands you in good stead to resist the winds of false and fashionable doctrines.

I like the NRSV very much - but like everything else, even translations, test the spirits.
