The problem with temptation is that our flesh that is the physical side of who we are is very weak towards it. We all struggle with different things in our lives, some sexual immorality, some holding grudges against people which can lead to hate and some substance abuse. The fact is that most of us are completely helpless to over come these things. No matter how hard we try we just cant over come it.
But God can! He can help us over come our weakness and step forward into victory. So pray, pray and pray again that he will give you the strength to resist. Every time you feel weak and that you can't go on, pray. Pray for the full armour of God especially the shield of faith. Because Satan knows what your weakness is. He knows where all the chinks in your armour are and he knows just to get at you and he will use every trick in the book to make you fall down. So I say again whenever you feel weak, drop to you knees (metaphorically of course, I understand you cant do that in the middle of the town square or someone will come and drag you away to the funny farm) and pray to to God to protect you and to give you the full armour so you can resist Satan's arrows.
But these is another thing you need to do and that is to flee temptation. Remove yourself from any situation that will help fuel your weakness. Remove all things associated with it. Make it as awkward and hard as possible for you to slide back into your old ways. Remember we battle not against flesh and blood but against the evil powers and authorities of this world. Yes, we are in a war and in any war you have to have battle tactics. You need to plan your defence and make precautions. I don't exactly what will make it impossible for you to backslide. But you do and if you don't pray and ask God to show you. But just make is so when you fall over the pit is so far away you can get up before you slide back in again. So when you give up and your weakness is taking over it is so hard and so very troublesome to actually get hold of anything that you will have no choice but to cry out to God to save you again and he will. He always does.
Read Matthew Ch4 verses 1-14.. Be encouraged. If Christ overcame.. you can to with His help! He is faithful and is every present in time of need! Fight girl. He loves you and does NOT want you to fall back into that.. you've come too far!!
