I have a daghter i recently started in sunday school and i have taken her twice now. Her mother dosnt approve of it. yes we are divorced. i want my daughter to have a fighting chance and sharing jesus with her is a start but im still concerned. if the rapture happens soon then it wont matter, But if it dosnt i need to show her the way like i was showed the way. And i am not good at this as i am a quiet and laid back person and i am not the smartest person or know everything about thebible and ect, but its my daughter and i want to be with her in heaven with Jesus like everyone here also. what can i do besides praying for it?

The times you have her in your care, you can color with her in bible coloring books.
~You can maybe start family devotion time either @ the breakfast table or at bedtime.
~ Read her bedtime bible story books.
~Let her see you reading the bible. Afterall, children are like sponges, and the do see and hear everything. Letting her just visually soak in the daily example your setting will stick in her mind.
~I do not know your style of music, (but this will benefit you AND her)...listen to Klove radio in your car. And have Klove or christian cd's playing @ home.
~you cannot control what goes on over @ her mothers house....you can only have a say as to what happens at your own home. Monitor what she watches on tv, or the types of books she is reading, or toys she wants to buy and play with from the store. They may seem like harmless things.....but it will speak volumes to her if she knows that certain shows are not allowed because they are not things God would be fond of etc.

(Any, and all of these are great ways to spark conversations. I bet she would ask questions....or you will come up with ways to initiate conversations with her that would be on her level.)

She may only be 6, but I bet she is smarter than any of us would give her credit for! ;) They always are. LOL She will catch on real soon that your lifestyle and the way you do things in your home are different than that of her mothers, and she will hopefully start asking questions.

(A bit of advice on the legal side of things. In the majority of divorce cases, the mother and father have joint decision making. They share decision in Childcare, education, medical issues, religion, and extra-curriculars (sports, dance ect. If you are taking her to church, and your former wife is totally opposed to it......she may take you back to court @ some point for contempt over this. I would still continue to raise your daughter in the faith of couse....but just have your *defense* in place IN CASE this ever does occur. Judges do not look well on those who cannot communicate and get along and make joint decisions for the best of the child(ren) involved. If she paints you as someone who just goes and does whatever you want no matter what she feels in it....then I would hate for you to be in trouble or worse her to get sole decision making.) (Just something to keep in the back of your mind)

Blessings.

Grace has some great advice. I also think that prayer for her is the most formidable force. Whether you're the source of her learning about God or it ends up being someone else, I would just pray that God would reveal Himself to her. My dad prayed for me every single morning since I was born, and I've had an extremeley blessed and protected life that I truly attribute to his prayer for me.

I dont believe that church is the ONLY way to heaven. And i don't think God sneds people to hell because of what we "strongly do not know". As she is growing up and having trouble in school or with boys or whatever us girls go through, just let her know constantly that God is her friend and will always be by her side. I think that your daughter has a good chance of getting to know WHO God is and what he has to offer. As she gets older i am pretty sure she will have her own choices of whether she wants to join church or not. But as i read above, do bible coloring books, watch cartoon bible movies at home, listen to kids christan music and yes take her to church when you are able too. God knows you are doing right, pray and he will provide. I don't know much about the bible or church and stuff, but i know God is Love, i know he is my friend, i know he watches over me and listens to my prayers, i know his plans are better than mine, I know i am going to heaven because I know Gods love. You can teach ur babygirl Gods love in and out of church.
i will be praying for you night and day
God bless

Be certain that she can see your faith and love for Christ revealed in how you live your life. Be with her in prayer, show her how to pray, and talk with her about having a personal relationship with Christ. You will present to her a contrast that represents life (with Christ) and death (life without Christ). She may be young but is old enough to have memories that will be with her for the rest of her life.

Gotta get them indoctrined nice and young. I mean just think how awful it would be if you let them work it out for themselves.

Why do you bother spending time on this website? Have you worked it out for yourself ?

Now, in answer to twf1967's question, your concern for your daughter shows that you have everything you need to point her in the right direction. By setting this example for her, you are showing her much more about being a Christian than she could ever learn from a book or any other source. I believe that the example of a believing parent is much more important to a child of her age than any intellectual knowledge you could impart.

Just keep loving her and praying for her. She will understand.

let your daughter chose if she wants to go or not if she does then her mother shouldnt have a problem
