What constitutes a hero? By definition isn’t it one who saves? Who defends the weak? Who protects? One who is willing to stand in the face of danger to protect another? Even at their possible peril?
Jesus of Nazareth is a Hero. A hero who had the power to speak a word and drop his adversaries at his feet dead. That is why it is documented how they fell backwards in the garden, when they came to “capture him”. He answered here I Am!
In our lives we all have a chance to be a hero. Maybe physically, saving someone from drowning, a fire, and so on. More so, when God is with you and you through His Holy Spirit feed the hungry. Or plant the seed for another to water. You may not know it then, but you too are a hero. As the darkness grows it will become more dangerous. Look around you, do you not see the wheat being separated from the chaff already? The dilation between them both will continue to grow. Not to break us, to refine us. To break the flesh in order to strengthen our faith, dependency and His Spirit in us.
As darkness engulfs the earth. Take heart brothers and sisters, for He has overcome it and death. Remember, He said do not be offended, if they did it to Me, the Master, how much more will they do to you. his servants?
Love is the way, mercy is the way, kindness is the way. No matter how much your flesh and pride that wants to strike out. Even in righteous anger. I know these words and this action is hard. Because our flesh wants to answer in anger. Remind yourself, as Moses reminded the Lord of His mercy. Not realizing it was a test of his heart. Yet also to foreshadow His Son! Remember your own flaws and iniquities. How He saved you! Regardless of your many sins. For when you truly believe and get that, the perfect Holy One, He took our sins unto Himself and covered us with His sacrifice, the Lamb of God, so that God no longer sees our filth. He sees His Son’s garments and sacrifice on you and in you.
Then when you get it, your heart will break. You will ask for mercy understanding then, it wasn’t Rome, it wasn’t the Sanhedrin, it was us, being in the flesh and seeking the desires of this world, instead of knowing and doing the will of God. That we spit in Him, slapped Him, whipped Him, insulted Him beating Him, mocked Him our sins did that. Imagine next time when you start weighing in your heart temptation of this world to sin, what He endured for us. Then also remember how even while m the cross in pain he quoted scripture. He also asked the Father to have mercy! For they know not what they do. As Mosses too tried to stand between the Father and His anger with the people, and asked if He could take the punishment for the people.
Remember how Christ, all powerful, reserved His anger, just judgement and instead gave mercy and love. The Lord taught us, it is easy to love those who love you, the test is can you give the same unconditional love to those who use you, despise you, hate you, do all kind of evil against you for His name sake and will. This can only happen when you have Him in you. It goes against every emotion in our flesh code and this world. This is the fruit of the Spirit. Seek, listen and obey Him.
Sometimes, we as humans create idols, and sometimes those idols are men. Even if one is a hero, do we not all trip occasionally? Do we not all stumble? Vengeance is mine, said the Lord, and when His hand takes hold in Judgement he will avenge his children.
Remember though, we are all His children. Saved or unsaved, this is why he explained that He makes the sun to shine and the rain to fall in both. He gives shade and provides food for all. He gives himself and mercy to all. Likewise we too should follow the Lord’s example. Not because He loves one more than another. Because He poured himself out to all, for all. First to the Jew to fulfill His promise of the new covenant. Jeremiah 31. Then to the gentile. So that he could graft everyone into “His People”. So that He could introduce Himself to the world.
So when you hear false prophets accuse their unbelieving brother the Jew, of killing Christ, and using that for a reason to hate them. Remember, it was Christ who said, no one takes my life, I give it freely. I lay down my life for my sheep. Remember there are only two types of people before God in the end, the saved and unsaved. One King, one Messiah/Shepard, one flock.
So now go and wash your robes. Fill your lamps. Feed your Spirit. Open the door! Remember, the call doesn’t come till midnight. The darkest hour! Prepare your hearts, keep the faith. Remember our brothers and sisters that went through this before us, since Rome to yesterday and tomorrow. Until all the Righteous blood from Able to Zachariah comes upon them.
May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. May His love fill you and His Holy Spirit guide you. That He may use us to do His will, and that it be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Seek His face and His will above all things. Find the Holy place, enter the Ark! Let the Lord shine in you and through you. Showing the way! Be gentle as lambs, but wise as serpents!
