Beloved Brooke, precious babe in Christ...this site is new to me too but I am not new to the Kingdom. I pray you receive this encouragement from the Father via the Holy Spirit...it is His love, care and nurturing just for you. Let Him saturate you with His presence!
You said some very significant words in your intro..."new in my walk with the Lord." This is your wonderful opportunity to walk with the Lord His way...before meeting Christ we've all gone our own way, which we also know only leads to destruction. In our sinful nature it was inevitable to know the darkness and otherwise, you wouldn't recognize the LIGHT...one cannot exist without the other but now you have a choice to decide good over evil...halleuYAH! He is the way, the truth and the life which is everlasting...He is in you and you are in Him. Amen!
You asked for some scriptures that would help guide you in His way and I pray your ears will hear what the Holy Spirit speaks to you as you journey with Him. You have the ultimate guide and counsel in the Holy Spirit, so who else would you ask or pray to first for your every need? BE DEPENDANT on God The Father, not man and cleave to Him, make Him your everything and the Lord of your life.
One must truly know the spirit of God to know who is also in union with the spirit of God and this is to say, when any man does share, listen to the Holy Spirit within the man not what remains of the man. You will only TRUST THE TRUTH and He is SPIRIT, so we must continually humble ourselves before Him...He is the potter and we are the clay...He knows best for you and has your best interest in His heart.
Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you. You've waited a long time to meet your Creator and this is a beautiful time for you to truly and tangibly KNOW HIM. He fore knew this annointed and appointed time for you...tell Him everything that's in your heart, the good praises, the bad feelings/sorrows and even the ugly sins and/or falsehoods. Nothing is hidden or secret from God, He knows everything about you. The scriptures He wants you to know are the following:
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Mat 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Never settle for mediocre dear child, always submit to the excellency of His will and way...He knows what's going to happen tomorrow today. How wonderful that you get to write a new story today, how do you want it to read tomorrow?
1Th 2:4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
