For all the parents who still have kids in public school and are looking for other options (not all children really learn/benefit from virtual/online school) you can start homeschooling ANY TIME of the year. Don't feel like since the public school year has started and your child/ren are enrolled that you have to complete the year there.

For all the parents who have itty bits who haven't reached compulsory school age yet, and are looking at options.

For anyone in general who just wonders about it and wants more information.

We started home schooling last year and my wife takes lead over it while I work. She loves it and a lot less stressful than dealing with public school shenanigans like indoctrination, immorality, or bullying.

Homeschool in two steps:
Step1: Teach kid to read.
Step2: Give kid tons of books to read.
Just do that and they'll be light years ahead of their peers.

If you want to do a little more:
Throw in a little bit of practical math, gun safety, and maybe some sports.
Don't forget...learn to swim!
Do that and they'll probably be ready to lead revolutions, make a billion fakebucks, or build an empire.

If you just want to be really lazy:
Get them a PC, have them play a bunch of video strategy games. All day. Every day.
Even doing this they'll be better off than if you send them to public school. Seriously.

The complete sentence should be "...read. write, spell with Phonics, learn Grammar, comprehend, compose paragraphs and letters, and do penmanship". That is what we require from our grandsons, and they do very well.

You will notice that a lot of people (even on the forum) do not know how to compose paragraphs. That's a shame.

I know I've just one couple planning to do this in the UK. The resources are not great but I think that people who are in the military off and homeschool because they are constantly moving house. A very noble step. Credit to you

okay, I forgot to add that in the OP.

I'm not paid to promote/endorse them, but we are paying members of their services and have benefited from doing such.
They were a tremendous help when we left the public school system.
