I hesitate to post this but I'm praying we are truly all Christians here with compassion for ALL people. So here goes. At church this morning we were told that one of our young people, a very smart, well liked, polite young man left his prom to find his tires slashed. Actually they weren't slashed, but the valve stems were snapped off all 4 tires. He discovered this at 2am. His name is Levi. His car was the only one vandalized in the parking lot. He was targeted because he is gay, though not obviously so, he does speak out for gay rights but isn't "in your face" about it. Everyone at our church loves this kid, he's very helpful and hard working and striving hard in his walk with the Lord. His friends, who also attend our church (2 straight couples, btw), were picked up at after the prom, and they and their parents called AAA and waited with Levi for the tow truck. His own parents wouldn't come and help or wait with him.
I am so grateful for my church because several people stepped up after service to help and they are at this very moment getting him 4 new tires installed.

This kind of cruelty and hatred breaks my heart, especially when perpetrated (and I'm not saying this was, but it does happen) by self proclaimed Christians. Why can't people live and let live. I can only get peace by knowing that God will settle this score in His perfect timing and His perfect way. But we, as God's Children need to spread the word that this won't be tolerated and that no one should be afraid to be who they are in this world. NO ONE!

It is so sad, where is the love, the understanding? Well....it was with those who rallied round to support this young man. We need to remember our churches are filled with the lost, the confused, the bigots, the angry and ....never forget, also many who are on the right road :) its situations like this that can pull a community together, but also drive it apart. As Christians we can use such an incident to allow God to 'turn all things to good, for those who love Him' by showing support and comfort to Levi and forgiveness and compassion to the perpetrators. God can do the un-imaginable! I pray there will be no anger, from anyone, but that gentleness and wisdom will prevail. God Bless you :) <><
 
It would have been so wrong of anyone to walk away from anyone
in need. Bless those who were there for him. Sort of reminds me of
the Good Samaritan parable. God Bless.

Well, I'm sure that now he'll be un-gay because he was persecuted for his deviant sexuality.

Haha, I know your kidding with this, but some might not. This was an example of TRUE Christianity, going above and beyond in God's name when one of His own was in need.
 
The church or Christian fellowship is nt 4 d perfect but where u could be worked on to make perfect state
 
It is my honest opinion that we need to let people do whatever it is that makes them happy, because they will be held accountable for their actions on judgment day. If a person chooses to live a homosexual life style, it is not for us to judge, only God has that right. I don't treat homosexual people any different than I would treat anyone else, because I don't want to hinder my own blessings. The bible says "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Only God can judge.

i totally agree. It is not for us to condemn others but we should look instead to the plank in our own eye.
 
I have thought long and hard about this. This lifestyle goes against all that God tells us, for sex is symbolic of much of what God stands for.

God does not allow cruelty to anything with life, animal or human. But God does not want us to mix with people who live contrary to the lifestyle of His people who will live with Him forever.

God does not allow us to judge other people, God says that is only for Him. When we take over this for God, then it is so serious that God asks how He can give forgiveness when we won't give it to others.

Yet, when it comes to judging what is sinful and what isn't, we are to be able to judge angels, even. Tolerance of sin is just not approved of anywhere in the bible.

History tells us that this problem has been with us for thousands of years, it is a symptom of a world whose lifestyle is not based on God, and a sign of destruction to come. This has always happened with this lifestyle gets out of hand, as it is in our world today.

So, with all these truths put together, what do you think God is asking of us to handle this in our world today?

Lol Yes, I'm kidding. But it still is deviant sexuality. If we were in Old Testament times the path he's on would lead to death, and it may still. But I can't remember God ever telling the folk way back when to go out and snap the valve stems off of the homosexuals' tires. I think love and justice aren't mutually exclusive. Both are duties commanded us by God. And when this man has not lain with another man I don't see justice entering into the equation yet. But love should, and so the people who did this were at fault.
 
It isn't being cruel, or judgmental, to suggest someone should stop doing something that is bad for them.

That said, whatever a person is doing, we should still treat them with love, and with kindness.
 
I'm glad there were people to help him. it's sad that his parent's wouldn't come to help. I'm glad he's OK.
