How are you to tolerate the scorners?
I know that is difficult. Nonetheless, see:
• Pro 19:29 -> “Condemnation is ready for scoffers, and beating for the backs of fools.”.
• Pro 26:3 -> “A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the back of fools.”.
Chastisement is for the back of fools. Nonetheless, for scoffers, the condemnation is ready. It comes the question: why?
Well, what Peter said:
• 2Pe 3:3 -> “knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.”.
The scoffers have great difficult to see Jesus’ works:
• Act 13:40-41 -> “Beware, therefore, lest what is said in the Prophets should come about: “‘Look, you scoffers, be astounded and perish; for I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you.’”
Hence it is so difficult to stay in the company of the scorners:
• Pro 9:12 -> “If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if you scoff, you alone will bear it.”.
It isn’t in vain that the Creator has a specific way to cope with them:
• Pro 3:33,34 -> “The LORD's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous. Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor.”.
And, if they don’t repent:
• Isa 29:20 -> “For the ruthless shall come to nothing and the scoffer cease, and all who watch to do evil shall be cut off,”
• Isa 28:22 -> “Now therefore do not scoff, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard a decree of destruction from the Lord GOD of hosts against the whole land.”.
So, have a good day don’t scorning of the scorners. After all, if we repay in kind, we will be like them and we will incur in the same judgment:
• Rom 2:1 -> “Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.”.
