How are your eyes? Opened or closed? If opened, what are they opened for?
• Pro 16:30 -> “He that shutteth his eyes, it is to devise perverse things: He that compresseth his lips bringeth evil to pass.”.
Who closes their eyes to what Jesus is doing or plan on doing (in the life of people who are suffering for their sins), certainly is devising perverse things.
You can question: but I am not doing nothing against nobody.
Perhaps not. But, from the moment that we aren’t doing anything in favor of anybody, this is selfishness. If this is the case:
• Joh 3:20 -> “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, lest his works should be reproved.”.
When someone plies on helping their flesh get satisfied, while they are doing this, many people in suffering are losing their opportunity of seeing Jesus to make a miracle in their life through us.
In this case, our lean is to be assaulted by the following malediction:
• Isa 6:10 -> “Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.”;
• Mat 13:15 -> “For this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest haply they should perceive with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should turn again, And I should heal them.”.
It’s sad to have our heart fattened of the pleasures of the flesh and, thereby, have the ears with difficulty of hearing the suffering of Christ for His people and the eyes closed for what He can and wish to do (2Ch 16:9).
The outcome is to become a worthless person:
• Pro 6:12-14 -> “A worthless person, a man of iniquity, Is he that walketh with a perverse mouth; that winketh with his eyes, that speaketh with his feet, That maketh signs with his fingers; in whose heart is perverseness, Who deviseth evil continually, Who soweth discord.”.
Who don’t long for living in order to be useful in Jesus’ hand in favor of our neighbor certainly is a man of iniquity, such as the antichrist (2Thess 2:3), that is to say, a man of delights and passions (1John 4:5; Rev 18:12-14).
The truth is: who close their eyes (or even wink) to the things of Jesus, only will cause sorrow:
• Pro 10:10 -> “He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow; But a prating fool shall fall.”.
So, have a great day opening your ears to the cry of the poor, your eyes to the sufferings around you and your heart for the Holy Spirit fill you and lead you in prayer pursuant to Jesus’ will (see Rom 8:26).
