Because the devil believes does not mean he is saved. You can believe and live like the devil.

Believing unto salvation = a renewed heart. The change is noticeable.

Jesus came to save us from sin
Not to save us IN sin.

Even the devil believes in the name of Jesus.

Mat 7:20-23
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

MANY will be to told " I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

If you profess to know Jesus and are working iniquity, to will not be saved.

(sin cuts us off from Christ and His life giving grace)

No one goes to heaven or hell, all descend to Hades/underworld where the Lord went to, waiting for resurrection.
