How can we know if something is good or evil?
First: what kind of feelings and thoughts does it stir up in us?
• Php 4:8 -> "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
Second: this gives room in our life for the operation of the Holy Spirit or for the entices of the Ha-Satan?
• Eph 4:27 -> "Neither give place to the devil."
Third: this propel us to act in according to Jesus’ will or egg us on to the selfish wishes of the flesh:
• Gal 5:13 -> "For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another."
Fourth: What kind of conversation this stimulate in us?
• Psa 1:1 -> “Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of the scornful.”.
• 1Co 15:33 -> “Do not be deceived; evil companionships corrupt good habits.”.
• Eph 4:29 -> “Let not any filthy word go out of your mouth, but if any is good to building up in respect of need, that it may give grace to the ones hearing.”.
The order of the Creator is clear:
• 2Co 6:17-18 -> "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
• 1Th 5:22 -> "Abstain from all appearance of evil."
• 1Co 10:31 -> "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."
