Lets compare stories...whther your parents are believers or not.

Apparently mine met through family friends, she was single, he was single and they both of their families kind of matchmaked them. My mum, from Hong Kong was visiting her sister who married a nzer chinese and she decided to do the same. Apparently dads parents wanted him to marry someone chinese so they could have a chinese daughter in law who would cook chinese food. To get parents off his back, he consented. Mum happened to be in the right place at the right time. She never went back to Hong Kong and got married here by proxy. Her parents werent at the wedding.
I always suspect she married so she get be away from them and live here.

I would like to believe they were 'in love' but it just sounds rather pragmatic to me. They had four children, including me and are still together, for better or for worse. Oh also they DID get married in church, even though both arent believers. A friend's father was a minister.

Mine met in 1958 at a candy store, I think. Or maybe they even first layed eyes on each other before that, being from the same neighborhood.

My parents met in 1954 after my dad returned home from the Korean War. My mother wrote to him while he was there. They were pen pals.

My parents are a match made in Heaven. He was the shy guy at the bar and she was shy gal but thought he was a dream. She then asked a mutual friend to introduce them. Funny thing they never again hung out a bars. They both realized they wanted a family and became dedicated parents. Him being Prussian and her raised Catholic they eventually met in the middle as Christians.

I'm not sure how my parents met, but I do know my dad was crazy for her immediately.
I was conceived sometime shortly before or after the wedding. Apparently my mom had planned on moving out of state and actually left and my dad hopped in his car and found her and convinced her to stay.
Married 21 years before she died. 22 years after her death he still is in love with her as much as when she was alive.

My parents met at a church youth function. My mother was a nurse who had moved away from home (about 1000 miles away) to find work. My father from a nearby town was visiting with friends. They've been married 47yrs. My father still can remember what she wore that evening. Guess she made an impression. lol

They met in rehab. Not exactly the most romantic love story, (and it didn't end well either) but I'm glad they were together for a time.....otherwise I wouldn't be alive right now.

Well both mom and dad were in the US Air Force. Mom was a early computer specialist ( punch cards no disks or drives ) dad was a security police man . Mom was driving by in a hurry one day and dad stopped here . Dad thought she was cute and got a date instead of giving a ticket. 30 days later they got married. Us kids came a few years later. They stayed married until the day my father passed. They were in love the whole time.
Blessings

My mama was raised in the hollows of Kentucky a LOT like Loretta Lynn. My grandpa was a coal miner and the 12 kids all went to the mines with him to work often. She had lost most of her teeth due to neglect, by age 15. She had to quit school at 15 too, because they didn't have the money for supplies, and she moved to Indiana to live with my aunt and work.

My dad was a farm boy turned city boy. He was a senior in high school who hung out at this little restaurant down town. My aunt had worked there for a while, and got my mom a job there. After a few weeks of saving, mom had gotten dentures. Dad noticed her then. His first words to her were, "Hey you got new teeth!" heh that was 1960. They were married in 1961 and were blessed and married until my mom passed in 2004. Dad passed in 2016.

My mothers father was building a tuna boat in his yard and my father was hired labor. Mom brought them snacks and beverages. Neither was saved by our standards. Mom was RCC & Dad was agnostic.

I can relate to this. My folks met when my mom was a senior in HS my dad was in her/my hometown in a treatment program. My mom was dragging main with a girlfriend and my dad chased her down on a bicycle. They fell in love and spent 17 yrs together before he passed.

He was a troubled man, a believer but not practicing, he had some demons that he never experienced deliverance from. Shortly before his death he spoke of heaven and I hope he made his peace. I was 12.

The Lord has brought us so far since then. My mom has been healed of drug addiction, eating disorder, depression and much more. We’ve truly seen the work of the Lord in our lives. His grace is beautiful!
