How do I not grieve and quench the Holy Spirit?

I teach completion in Christ and not in-completion in Christ. Where I can take the Bible and close the book and say "it is finished."

There is nothing about our flesh that pleases God. We died to the power of sin one time on the day of salvation. We are not dying to sin everyday crucifying the flesh everyday when we already died to the power of sin. The only way to become dead to sin is through spiritual baptism. You are not being spiritually baptized everyday. When a person is spiritually baptized one time they become to dead to sin forever and their sins remain buried forever. You walk alive to God everyday. Christ died for our sins once and not everyday.

Ro 6:10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Ro 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

He only died once, but that does not mean we do not give daily effort not to sin. We must carry our cross daily. (Luke 9:23) "What should we say then? To continue in sin so that grace may abound? By no means!" Romans 6:1

Here is what you are not understanding is that you are no longer walking in the power of sin. Because you are in Christ you are dead to the power of sin and alive to God. When you were lost then you were walking in the power of sin alive in sin and dead to God. You are walking in the spirit now and not in the flesh but when you were lost you were walking in the flesh and not the spirit. The only way to put off the old person and put on the new person is by the work of God which is to believe in Jesus Christ by faith alone without works. By letting Christ put away your sins with your old person. You don't have the power by yourself to put off the body of sin because only Christ could do that for you. Our flesh is no better than Charles Manson's flesh and he was a mass murder. Sure I believe we should abstain from sin and use prayer continually. But even if you do that you will still sin more than you can count here. In order to become holy and righteous in the sight of God a person must be born again by faith alone without works.

Close the book? Why would He give us His Word if we are not to study it daily? It says to "study to show ourselves approved unto God." It also says "Keep what you have attained." That means not only to grow in Christ, but to not go back to the sinful habits you've gotten rid of so far.

The Bible speaks of the Elect of God, and of the Very Elect of God. Not only do you have to be righteous, you have to be righteous and obedient. "For if it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"

You will be judged according to the Book, don't you think you should find out what it says instead of closing it?

You think it is enough to be God's servant, but the Bible gives examples of genuine servants of God not making it to heaven because they gave not effort. Like the parable of the talents. The one who received one talent hid it (no effort) and when the master returned he said "Throw that wicked and lazy servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Faith with out works is dead because if a person is not doing the work of God which is to believe in the Messiah. Then their faith is dead.

John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

The talents represent monetary value and are distributed according to ability (vs. 15). The requirement is to invest in Christ. The first two servants deposited their money with the bankers (Matthew 25:27) but the third servant buried his money in the ground (vs. 25). The third servant had been given abilities and the opportunity to believe and bear fruit in accordance, but had chosen to reject it.

The fact that the latter man in this parable is called wicked and slothful and an unprofitable servant (Matthew 25:30) who is cast out into outer darkness, certainly indicates that he was not a true disciple of the master. The idea of this illustrative parable is that all true believers will produce fruit in varying degress. All believers are fruitful, but not all are equally fruitful (Matthew 13:23). Those who produce no results are not truly converted.

Here is the third servant's characterization of the master, "reaping and gathering" what he had no right to claim as his own. This slothful so-called servant does not represent a genuine believer, for it is obvious that this man had no true knowledge of the master.

Two of these servants were children of God, but not the third. Children of God are not cast out into outer darkness. The fact that this man is called a "servant" does not mean necessarily that he is saved. The Jews are called the Lord’s servants, but they were not all saved (Isaiah 43:10).

Amen! We are to trust exclusively in Christ's finished work of redemption for salvation (Romans 3:24-26) and not in "our accomplishments/performance/works" (Romans 4:4-6).
