How do you help your friends? Based on Jesus’ justice or on what is convenient for you?
• Mic 7:1-3 -> “Woe is me! For I have become as when the summer fruit has been gathered, as when the grapes have been gleaned: there is no cluster to eat, no first-ripe fig that my soul desires. The godly has perished from the earth, and there is no one upright among mankind; they all lie in wait for blood, and each hunts the other with a net. Their hands are on what is evil, to do it well; the prince and the judge ask for a bribe, and the great man utters the evil desire of his soul; thus they weave it together.”.
• Eze 22:12 -> “In you they take bribes to shed blood; you take interest and profit and make gain of your neighbors by extortion; but me you have forgotten, declares the Lord GOD.”.
• Isa 1:23 -> “Your princes are rebels and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe and runs after gifts. They do not bring justice to the fatherless, and the widow's cause does not come to them.”.
This is the perfect picture of our society nowadays. And the worst is that people like this:
• Jer 5:30,31 -> “An appalling and horrible thing has happened in the land: the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule at their direction; my people love to have it so, but what will you do when the end comes?”.
The history repeat itself. And this confirms the Holy Scripture:
• Pro 17:23 -> “The wicked accepts a bribe in secret to pervert the ways of justice. ”.
I know that, many times, we are enticed to favor those who we love. Well, if helping someone doesn’t bring any harm or loss to anybody else, fine. Otherwise, the order is clear:
• Deu 16:19 -> “You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous.”.
• Exo 23:8 -> “And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of those who are in the right.”.
So, have a day full of honesty, helping your neighbor in what is righteous and good for edification. If your friend is undergoing a bad moment in virtue of their sins, help them in the right way, namely: assisting them with the necessary resources to fix their mistakes and praying for them so that Jesus can carry out in their heart what is said by Paul:
• 2Ti 2:24-26 -> “And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.
