So, suffering comes from satan, right? and God allows it right?
Christians are also under attack by other evil angels and demons (Ephesians 6). God allows this but also gives us the whole armor of God. God is sovereign over every creature, and sets His limits (as in the case of Job).

(excerpt)

Trials and tribulations come with both a purpose and a reward. "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. . . . Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him" (James 1:2-4,12).

Through all of life’s trials and tribulations, we have the victory. "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord, Jesus Christ." Although we are in a spiritual battle, Satan has no authority over the believer in Christ. God has given us His Word to guide us, His Holy Spirit to enable us, and the privilege of coming to Him anywhere, at any time, to pray about anything.

Why does God allow us to go through trials and tribulations?

In light of context of the subject of A Living Hope, perhaps 1 Peter 1:6-8 can be better understood if we consider how a gold tester works.

A Living Hope

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy He has given us new birthb into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, 5who through faith are shielded by God’s power for the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

6In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in various trials 7so that the proven character of your faith—more precious than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

8Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9now that you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

I found this excerpt from an article reviewing the best electronic gold testers.
Which best gold tester on the market goes inside the metal?
There is a type of gold tester called an X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzer that can go inside the metal to determine its composition and purity. XRF analyzers use X-ray technology to excite the atoms in the metal, causing them to emit fluorescent radiation. The analyzer then measures the intensity of the radiation to determine the metal’s elemental composition (Nov 7, 2023, Karl D. McGrath).

I'm speaking figuratively, of course, but, during the testing, you're sure to notice 'excited atoms' but, do you notice any 'fluorescent radiation'?

When you have misfortunes after misfortunes, challenges after challenges, setbacks after setbacks, loss after loss over the years; how do you know that it's God (to strengthen your faith? to test if you will deny Him? to prepare you something coming?), the devil (demonic attack, evils spirits, satanic agenda against your life). Remember, all these happen while you are a prayerful person who reads the Bible and fasts. How do you know? Because I think this is an issue which frustrates most of us Christians.

God put man in charge of the earth. Adam was deceived by satan out of that position of authority . Adam"s descendants continued to follow Adam's example and handing authority to Satan through believing his lies and obeying him by sinning. .Jesus came as a human and never allowed Satan to deceive Him out of His birthright. Jesus kept His authority over satan. By receiving forgiveness for our sins we can stand in our birthright authority in Christ, Jesus has won for us our original prefall authority over satan, but we must exercise that authority according to God"s design, which is that we submit to God and then we resist the devil with God's truth until the devil flees. We are not told to ask God to defeat the devil for us. We are told to engage the devil ourselves with faith that Jesus backing us up,

So many Christians live in constant defeat because we are waiting for someone else (even God) to rescue us from the devil's attacks and snares, asking someone else to do what God told us to do, when we should be worshipping and praising God that He has put us in authority over the devils, and attacking the devil back with Jesus truth in our mouth and in our deeds and driving satan out in Jesus' authority..

Number one...God has given us power over all our enemies. Anoint your doorposts and order anything negative out of your life in the name of Jesus Christ. Second...trials and tribulations are going to happen to those that trust and follow Christ. If the world rejected him, they will also reject you. Put on the gospel armor of Ephesians 6 and make the stand against the Lord's enemies.

I usually say "God of Wonders and Miracles, please fight my battles and give me rest and let me hold my peace, for this is what you promised me as per Exodus 14:14". Does this mean i must exercise MY authority now and stop asking God>?

A child may ask his father to fight a battle for him. As the child matures , his father should train him to engage in battle himself with his father's help. It would not be good parenting to always step in and solve my child's problems for him when he has had enough teaching to take on some of that responsibility himself. At some point the father should step back and refuse to do the fighting for his son, if the son is too timid or lazy to do what he has been taught that he can do himself to meet adversities.

If you want to destroy the works of the devils, you should stop asking God to fight your battles and give me rest and let me hold my peace. If you are content to put up with the devils kicking, bruising, slashing you and stealing from you, you should keep on asking God to do everything for you, and things will likely continue for you in the present trajectory. You should instead ask God to train you to war a good warfare, and you should put into practice all the battle tactics God has revealed to us in the scriptures for us to do, relying on His power at work in us to will and to do what pleases Him.

Trials and tribulations will happen to those that love the Lord. No doubt about it. But if you feel something negative is coming against you, remember, God has given you power over all your enemies. Simply anoint the door posts of your house with oil and command all evil away form you and your household in the name of Jesus Christ. Luke 10:19

if someone is a born again Christian & suffering as you described, it's a season of suffering where God is giving you a chance to grow in grace, forsake sins & learn what He knows you should be learning because He wants to give you what He knows is best for you. also, said person may be involved in lot's of sin & that's why the suffering is abundant. we learn mostly thru adversity. all b.a. Christians have the Holy Spirit in their lives to guide & teach them the truth. if a Christian is not honest within herself or himself, is not admitting, identifying, recognizing & correcting sin, you are not going to advance to the ultimate Christian you can be.
