Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

Give thanks to God for what He has done and praise Him for who He is.
Give thanks for His blessings. Praise Him for He is Holy and a merciful God, a good Shepherd, a good provider and a loving Father.


1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
 
I don't believe in rituals of any kind so I just plainly state what I want to communicate I don't even reserve a certain time for it like church or before bed because I believe that God hears all true believers that have proven to Him that they respect.

Im not saying that anyone else's way is bad it's just that ritualism is one of satans means of pulling people deeper into his world when we should be trying to leave it.

Also I think that He has a prayer recording service so if He's busy He'll get back to me later.

I agree about ritualism. The muslim's way of praying (5 times a day at specific hours) and the catholic's rosary prayer is satanic.

Satanic? lol Overkill maybe, but not satanic. Anyway, the bible says pray without ceasing so praying several times a day or reciting prayers for 30 minutes a day is not satanic :p

But the Bible also says avoid vain repetitions when you pray. Maybe because God is not deaf and He already knows our desires even before we pray, so it's better to focus on praise and thanksgiving. And praying to Mary makes her a God but she is not. Idolatry is indeed satanic because it is sin.

They don't actually pray to Mary, they ask her to pray for them.. but I won't get into that.. way too much BDFness than its worth..

I just speak to God with my own thoughts in my own mind... When i feel the need or feel moved to do so..

Some people think prayer needs to be complicated and exacting and formal.... They are wrong..

I like this kind of praying because it makes me feel like a telepath talking to God. But voicing out your prayers will intimidate Satan and he cannot hear our thoughts. Just don't voice out your life plans when talking to God, because Satan might plot something to sabotage your plans.

They devote the whole month of May to her, chanting and droning hail Marys, my goodness, their badness, Hail Mary full of grace, they are definitely addressing her, that is called praying to her, Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, they are praying to her for her to pray for them, they commit idolatry replacing Jesus with her as mediator... the official stance of this site and the founder/s is that Roman Catholicism is heretical, and their excessive focus on Mary is pretty disturbing, please don't make me come over there and force you out of the undergrowth...

Yes, I know CC and Robo's stance on the subject and I don't agree with everything the catholic church does or preaches, but I know there are many who are very devoted to God and love Jesus with all their heart, all their strength and all their mind. That's all I'm gonna say... :rolleyes: (please be nice and don't make me leave this site..)

Our pastor prays after preaching God's word with soulful music in the background. Sometimes I get emotional when he prays. His prayer is spontaneous but intimate, like talking to a person you trust and someone close to your heart.
 
Me? I just collapse in my bed, exhausted, and say the Lord's Prayer or whatever that's called, and then mumble unintelligibly about what I want from God, knowing that he can understand what I'm talking about, anyway. Then I make a weird gesture with my hands in the shape of the cross, and then finally fall asleep 30 minutes to an hour later.
 
Prayer for me is opening my heart to God and expressing how I feel about
everything, and bringing it to Him, and listening for His word and encouragement.

Well yes it is very much like telepathy.. But the power is all Gods.. He knows every persons every thought.. So communicating with Him by thoughts makes sense :D

Just don't voice out your life plans when talking to God, because Satan might plot something to sabotage your plans.

Only If God allows him too.. satan is hopeless and can do nothing if God does not allow him to do it..
