Enter His gates with thansgiving
and His courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise His name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
PSALM 100:4-5
In the book, Practice for Godliness, Jerry Birdges wrote: "To fail to be thankful to God is a most grievous sin."and His courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise His name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
PSALM 100:4-5
In Romans 1, Paul begiins with the statement, "Although they knew God, they neither glorified hi as GOd nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened." In my opinion, we might say we never failed to be grateful to God. But all of us, once in our lives, committed the same sin as the 9 leprous who did not return to give thanks.
My usual way of saying thank you to God is through searching my heart before going to sleep and thanking him in advance for uncertain days. Giving cards, singing, composing poems, encouraging other people. Making him feel special by my service to people and using the talents he gave. Giving back the 10% that belonged to him eversince. Practiciing to say, "Thank you" especially in the midst of trial.
Thanking Him through many ways are not enough. The ways doesn't matter, it's where the thankfulness comes, from the heart.
Thank you, LORD!
