I would also say this:

the blood of Christ has set me free

from satan's reign and authority

I have passed out from under the curse

and I am now blessed in ALL things as was Abraham

the simple words, God is GOOD, is enough to make me smile

I'm smiling right now!!

my favorite verse and passage.

I heard this preacher give an example of how., for us believers (sons of God by faith in Christ) Jesus is all those things the Bible says and that we all have shared and posted here. My computer for some reason doesn't cut and paste as well as I'd like so I just put put up JGIGs list.

But the thought the preacher was getting across was this; He is a very well known pastor and teacher. He is also a well known author of of books and is on the Times best seller. He is always sought after for speaking engagements and people respect him. His secretary and other people are needed to set up appointments for how busy his schedule and life is and his time is very much taken up 100%. Before a message gets to him, it usually goes through those trusted people in his life.

Yet., when one of his children come into his office., they don't need an appointment., they don't need special permission to come in. They don't refer to him as "oh award winning writer and teacher, oh well known speaker, Senior Pastor of our church., caneth we cometh in to speaketh with you??" No., they just walk in freely and jump on his lap. To them he is "daddy" and they have a special place in relationship with Him that others don't. They are his children. No secretary or other important people whose job it is to watch out for this man's time can stop these children of his. The kids have free access.

And so it is with us and the Lord. He is all those things; Mighty God., Prince of Peace., Ever Lasting Father., Law giver., Redeemer., Lord God Almighty., The Lion of Judah., Shepherd and Bishop of our souls., AND our God IS a consumer fire! But for US., He is our Daddy., our Abba Father who will not consume us.

Our relationship is no more under those terms because of Jesus and HIS gift to us of righteousness and righteous standing before God. Although HE is still 100% all those high and holy things. To us He is our loving Lord who gave His life for His sheep and tenderly cares for us and will care for us forever until untileternity and then some.

Do you know that how you see Jesus determines what you receive from Him? If you see Jesus as your healer, you will receive healing. If you see Jesus as your refuge and fortress, you will receive protection.
The people of Nazareth, Jesus’ hometown, saw Jesus in the natural. They said of Him, “Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us?” (Matthew 13:55–56) They saw Jesus in the natural. They did not see Him as God in the flesh. As a result, He could not do many mighty works there. (Matthew 13:58)
Today, many people, including some philosophers, see Jesus of Nazareth as a good person who led an exemplary life. They feel that if all of us could live our lives like Him, the world would be a better place.
They don’t see Jesus as the bread of God who came from heaven to give life to the world. (John 6:33) They don’t see Him as the one who came to give them living water, so that they would never thirst again. (John 4:14) They don’t see Him as the Lamb of God, who took away the sin of the world. (John 1:29) They don’t receive from Him what they need because they don’t esteem Him rightly.
Jesus did not come just to set a good example for man to follow. He came to be our Redeemer. (Galatians 3:13) He came to be our righteousness. (1 Corinthians 1:30) He came to be our shepherd, so that we will not lack anything. (Psalm 23:1)
Jesus asked His disciples once, “But who do you say that I am?” How you answer this question depends on how you see Jesus. And how you see Jesus will determine how and what you receive from Him. So see Him as your God, as everything He claims to be in His Word, and He will do mighty works in your life

Destined to Reign Devotional for today

I see HIM as BEAUTY for ashes...
And I see HIM as LORD even in the "ashes"...trusting that HE is SOVEREIGN in all things and that all things are working out for the good for those who LOVE HIM and are called according to HIS PURPOSE...

There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
James 4:12 (KJV)

Hey disciplemike, Isn't it an awesome and shocking thought that the ONE who is so Holy we could not even look upon His face., Who is able to destroy and burn up souls in hell and send powerful angels to the abyss., has created all things (even us humans)., That He could love us and send His only Son to pay for our sins so we could be saved., and that He wants us to call Him Father? How is that possible????

It's GRACE., God's love that is so much higher than ours He could stoop down and pick up such losers as us pathetic sin-filled humans and change us from the inside out to be sons and daughters of His.,taking care of the sin problem for us by sending His only Son.,and placing us in the Beloved.

The Law-Giver became the Law-Keeper and died for us, the law breakers. “In my place condemned He stood; and sealed my pardon with His blood." Hallelujah. Thank you Jesus.

In reality, I think when I see him, this is about how I feel. I do not know how I will react.

I have seen Jesus Christ our Lord and God with my eyes. I know Jesus Christ as my Lord, and he is my master. I am a servant of our Lord and God, and do all he tells me to do.

Lately I have experienced a little turnaround ... I used to feel a little shy addressing the Father and more comfortable addressing Jesus ... but then what Jesus said about no one knowing Him really sank in and the roles were reversed... But I love them both as well as I know them. They are one, after all. :)

I have a friend that always starts his prayer with "Hi Dad" The egalistic me thought it was rude, and uncalled for. How dare you call our lord Dad.

Then I read the passage where we have not been given a spirit of fear. But of adoption, whereby we can cry out abba father (literally dad)

It is still hard. But it is becoming easier, and I see God in a different light when I think of him as not only my savior. But my daddy!!

Lovely, EG. He IS our Father ... we ARE His children. I find that applying thoughts of parent-child relations helps me love Him more. :)

Amen sis,, Yes, as children, Who depend totally on mom and dad, In this case (even as adults) we depend totally on our abba father, God.. (dad)

One of the important questions for us is... Who is Jesus Christ to us?

He is Lord of my life! The Son of the living God. The Christ. The Messiah. The second Person of the Godhead in whom the fullness of the Godhead dwells.
