Ephesians 1:13 covers it.

“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,”

Even though it will be argued about I will follow the scriptural pattern and teach that Baptism in water is included in these references to Baptism in the scriptures as it relates to being added to the church. We see that in Acts 2 which sets the pattern. Though it is definitely the invisible faith related spiritual aspect of that act that is also emphasized nevertheless the reference to baptism in water is included and often simply assumed since baptism in water was a normal thing that was taught, practiced and every Christian took part, There is of course an invisible spiritual reality of what the Spirit does in the heart of the believer in adding him/her to the church. As a matter of fact baptism in water was a matter of immediate urgency in the New Testament but has become almost a "when you get around to it" option today that should be restored without putting more emphasis on the act than faith in Jesus. Now y'all can go ahead and argue about it, I am not confused and I won't waste time arguing about it. I will just baptize new converts and let the arguers argue about it until Jesus comes, meanwhile new converts will be getting baptized in water in my church every Sunday, or at least that is one of the goals.

I would turn to passages such as Eph 1.13 , Romans 10.9 and 1 cor 15 ,1-4 . Notice what's absent ?

Given the details in Acts 2.38 I wouldn't use it .It says to Israel, in order to recieve the Holy Spirit you need to be baptised. Thats not how we are saved today.

The Son draws after the cross so anything exclusively done by the father seems to change after the cross . John 12.32

I think the "babes in Christ" had a spiritual problem much deeper than merely disagreements on doctrine. They were worldy at least at the time of those writings. Most likely they were Christians who were new to the faith and still had not been transformed completely by the Holy Spirit. Yet they are "in Christ." Because they are saved through faith.

We are saved by grace received through faith. Eph 2:8-9 We cannot merit salvation we do not deserve salvation. Salvation and being added into the body of Christ are the same thing.

Water baptism does not contribute to salvation. Holy Spirit baptism is the means by which Christ adds us to the body. Titus 3:5 I am all for water baptism after salvation in the order that Philip baptized the eunuch in Acts 8:31-39.

The blood of Christ provides the atonement for our sins. The grace of God makes the atonement efficacious for each individual soul that surrenders itself to the will of God and trusts Christ for salvation.

John 3:16-17 is the gospel in a concise form and can be explained in under 2 minutes.

We are already in the body of Christ ..the deal breaker is on opening the door to the Truth/Life. Baptism goes with it of course.

Jesus had a connection to us before we were born. We were in Him. That gives Jesus a way to access all sins.

If we were in him before you were born , before the fall and before you sinned , ,how did we get out of him ?

It's a difference of Sin of the Body ..vs the Truth of the Mind.
