The Bible is the words of God and have a faith to read or listen his World and get profit you that KJVHebrew4;2 For into us was the Gospel preached, as well as unto them; but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

You don't read the bible like you read a book, because the Bible is like a compilation of writings. The Old Testament were writings about those who followed the Abrahamic Covenant. The New Testament is about the rise of Christianity, starting with Christ. I would start with the New Testament, and then go with the Old Testament. But really, you should get study guides to help you navigate through the Bible to help you learn about topics of the Bible that you can use in your life.
