How is it your love? Are you faithful?
Two benefits of the steadfast love and faithfulness:
*First*: atonement for the sins:
• Pro 16:6 -> “By steadfast love and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the LORD one turns away from evil.”.
*Second*: safekeeping of the Church, which is comprised of kings and priests:
• Pro 20:28 -> “Steadfast love and faithfulness preserve the king, and by steadfast love his throne is upheld.”.
Nevertheless, it is important to draw attention to the perfect unity that there is between steadfast love and faithfulness:
• Psa 85:10 -> “Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other.”.
Only the steadfast love and faithfulness of the Creator saves us:
• Mic 7:18-20 -> “Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.”.
Therefore, we need to follow the advice which Daniel granted to Nebuchadnezzar; and Paul, to the Corinthians:
• Dan 4:27 -> “Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you: break off your sins by practicing righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the oppressed, that there may perhaps be a lengthening of your prosperity.”.
• 2Co 7:1 -> “Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.”.
But how can we cleanse our heart?
1 – Giving alms:
Luk 11:41 -> “But give as alms those things that are within, and behold, everything is clean for you.”.
2 – Believing in Jesus:
• Act 15:9 -> “and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith.”
3 – Abiding by the truth:
• 1Pe 1:22 -> “Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,”.
Finally, have a great day living the following verse:
• Eph 5:21 -> “submitting yourselves to one another in the fear of God.”
