How is your life for the operation of the Holy Spirit? (Part 1).

As the bride cadged that the wind could blow upon her life, so the Bride of Christ also gives thanks to Jesus when her members see in us a sign of Jesus’ grace. And this stirs her up to pray in our favor so that His bountifulness can enable us even more in all good work:

• 2Co 9:10-15 -> “Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men; and by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you. Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.”.

In the Old Testament, the prophet prayed for the “awakening” of the Creator:

• Isa 51:9-11 -> “Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon? Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over? Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.”.
• Isa 64:1 -> “Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,”.

In Acts, Jesus’ Bride prayed for the plentifulness of the Holy Spirit:

• Act 4:31 -> “And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”.

Paul prayed in behalf of the Philippians so that they could abound in Jesus’ knowledge and judgment in order that they could:

o approve what were excellent;
o be sincere;
o be without offence until Jesus’ day arrive for them;
o be filled with the fruits of righteousness:

• Php 1:9-11 -> “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.”.

Paul also prayed for the Colossians so that they could:

o Be fill with the knowledge of the will of Jesus in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
o Walk in a worthy way before Jesus in order to please Him in everything (1Cor 10:31);
o Be fruitful in every good work (it is useless to do good work without fructifying and it is impossible to fructify in bad works);
o Increase in the ken of the Creator;
o Be outright strengthen by Jesus’ power to stay relish even when they had to exercise patience and longsuffering.

• Col 1:9-12 -> “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:”

Paul also thanked to the Creator because the Thessalonians received the word of the Creator in the right way and, for this, His work was working in them (as we can see in Philippians 2:12,13):

• 1Th 2:12,13 -> “we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory. And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.”.

Have a good day praying for the awakening of Jesus in His Church and in you (regardless how much are you fervent in His work).
