It comes the question: why would someone plow in Autumn if, very soon would come Winter, a season very cold, when the crop, in countries like Israel is nigh impossible?
Well, although in Winter the seeds can’t spring, many can resist to the snow. So, if the person, in the Winter, to plow the soil and sow, when the Spring arrives, all the seed will receive the earlier rain, bud and reach its full potential in the right time.
Besides, see what the Holy Scripture says:
• Ecc 11:1 -> “Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days.”.
So, in every time, we need to strain to do what is good. Gideon, for instance, didn’t cease of the work for the sake of the raids of the Midianites. Instead, he used of intelligence:
• Jdg 6:11 -> “Now the angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress to hide it from the Midianites.”.
True are the sayings:
• who desires to do the good, find opportunities in the difficulties; who doesn’t, find difficulties in the opportunities;
• who wish to do the good, find a way; who doesn’t, an excuse.
See this in the story of the talents:
• Mat 25:26,27 -> “But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest.”.
Note that the Creator try to reap where He didn’t sow (He is the God of the impossible). I know that this sounds harsh. Nonetheless, recollect that:
• Job 42:2 -> “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”.
• Isa 43:13 -> “Also henceforth I am he; there is none who can deliver from my hand; I work, and who can turn it back?”
Furthermore:
• Rom 9:16 -> “So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.”.
So, there is no excuse, for instance, to stop preaching the gospel. Even if the person seems callous by the sin, our role is to try to prepare a way for the Holy Spirit to touch this one (as did John, the Baptist – Isa 40:3). If a way fail, let’s try to find other until the God of the impossible makes what only He can do. Hence the Holy Scripture says:
• 2Ti 4:1,2 -> “I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”.
• Luk 14:23 -> “And the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.”.
In the end:
• Pro 10:4 -> “A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.”.
So, have a good day seeking the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near (Isa 55:6).
