Though I have come and gone to this site, I seem to always have this very query in my mind. I mean, we are all ... supposedly Christian. Or I'd should rather say the Christians visiting this site is Christians. (hopefully). I don't expect this question to those who do not know the Lord Jesus as their personal Saviour. I understand it, if they(non Christians) don't have this link with the Creator.
Christ died on the cross for a couple of reasons: One of them is so that the veil between us and God would be torn and we could connect and talk to Him and He to us. For that to happen the price of sin had to be paid, which Christ did. And then He conquered death.
These things are not new. It is not a new revelation. Anyone that calls himself/herself a Christian should know this. We are made by Him a royal priesthood, that can converse with God. Converse meaning saying and hearing messages from Him.
A couple of examples...
Moses hearing from God to save Isreal and lead them out.
Abraham hearing to sacrifice his son, but was spared it, just before he took his child's life. (as a prophecy)
A could go on and on about the prophets, about Peter on the rooftop and so on and so on.
What I am saying is not new. It is not just a feeling, but is God's words granting peace into your very soul like water and burning your blood with energy like fire. To see things as if they are simply because He said so, even if there is nothing to see. The words of God flowing into your spirit and releasing you from evil and you feel the clutches of the evil one ripping away as it flees because of the POWER of behind those words given by the most Holy.
You hear those words not like a memory or a an idea of a feeling but like sentences of words that flow from the very mouth of God. And you can see the life that those words bring as soon it passes from the lips of God. Not mere feelings of hope. But true enough sentences as clear as the sentences I write to you now.
My question is this. How many of you idle your lives in doing things in rituals when in fact you could be listing to His divine words. How many ask Him questions and listen and wait for Him to respond and then receive a respond as you wait in humility.
So many times I see people's idealism of what they believe things should be. But the very foundations of what they speak it is clear that they have never even heard a single word coming from God. I write not to be liked or not liked. I do not write for fame of to inspire. I merely would really like to see more people that actually hear God's voice and do as He asks.
Are you a listener? Or are you someone that does rituals in a Church. Don't get me wrong. The buildings in which God is glorified serve their purpose. But that is not my question. Do you listen to the most High. Or do you live a dead faith. One where you do not hear nor see nor feel God. You merely know of Him. Ask yourself this. When the young men tried to mimic Paul and tried to cast out demons, did they have what it took? If they didn't have it there, how much more going into His Kingdom. I assure you, they would have followed the ritual exactly as often young men do.
But are you listening to the words of God daily, hourly, by minutes. Do you ask Him questions on you day to day life. Things of how to do this or that, or what is His opinion about something. And then listen and hear and respond accordingly.
My question is not to cause fear in you, but to plead with you to seek God and not the justification of men. For some of the men you wish to be justified by hear God well, but that doesn't build your relationship with God, merely the person you are trying to be justified by. Or even worse some of those you try to justify yourself by, do not even hear God themselves, but are following ritualistic behaviour themselves.
God is first of all a person and He really longs to hear from you and talk to you. But you must listen. If you do not know how, find out. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened. Ask and you shall receive. There is meaning in the words. They are not just a ritual. But a promise God gave you. Please.
Again, I am not writing to be liked. I am writing so that those who truly seek God, may find Him. And those that are to attach to their own mortal dwellings, my be warned.
I bid thee good night and peace. And may the Lord grant you peace as He grants me. Amen.
