Thanks Psalm 1, for your response. Many people read the Bible as you do, as a surface text without the need to see parable or figurative interpretations. I am different from you in that I see the Bible as being written in parable form. We learn about that in Psalm 78: "Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable:" This is a scripture which many do not acknowledge, or they shoo it away as only pertaining to small parts of the Bible. Yet the verse says that it is about God's law, which is the entire Bible. We find this backed up by Mark chapter 4, among other places, where we learn that Jesus did not even speak except in parables: "But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples. " Now that is interesting and is not recognized by many denominations. Not because they are correct, but because they do not receive it. Jesus further explains: "And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:" Here, Jesus explains that all these things are done in parables, but that the Bible is a parable which those who are without (the unsaved) do not understand. He goes on to explain that those who are saved are given to understand the parable of the Bible. He does this by saying that: "Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God ". That is, unto the true believers. He goes a little further to explain that it is while they are alone with Jesus that he explains his words to them: "and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples. "

The verse you are interested in Rev 20 talks about Satan being bound for a thousand years. That is the time during which Satan can do absolutely nothing to stop people from believing in Jesus unto salvation, once God opens up their ears to hear. Satan is bound in respect to people being able to believe on Jesus and Satan cannot stop them from believing. Satan can't say, sorry you're not allowed to believe. Jesus would save the person despite this. That is why God set an open door, not a closed one, for persons to believe the gospel. Satan is bound. He cannot stop that.
There are:
parables
Types and shadows
Riddles
Metaphors
Etc.

Then the literal that is self explanatory.

For example NT salvation only points to that.
No parable there.

The types are in the OT.
THEY pointed to Jesus.
Jesus does not point to them, unless He says it specifically.

You had me at Hebrews 9:28!
Uh no,
He comes for his bride first.
That is main harvest.
He comes for His Covenant people the Jews in Rev 14.
THEN He comes as you say to the earth.

Those points you make are reframed and all harvest , bride, groom, and gathering his wayward Covenant people as prophesied in rom 11 is TOTALLY OMITTED in your theory.
You need to incorporate the heart of the bible.
The covenant Jew
The bride of Christ
The PURPOSES of God.
The PURPOSE of the trib.
Daniel's 70th week.
The AC
The mil
The LOF.
HARVEST, and how used in end times.

AND much much more.

It is fascinating, and to omit it all is just ridiculous.

The purpose of His next coming is twofold: Harvest the wheat; burn the tares (Matt. 13:30).

Most of my study in end times is in the figurative wording of the bible and Jesus.

To accuse me of being a "surface reader" is ridiculous.

It was me that brought the dynamics that were overlooked for years by bible students in Rev 14.
It was me that brought the meaning of the bow in hand of the AC.
It was me that brought the queston of; "why did it have to be Jesus on the cross?", that nobody could answer sufficiently.
I still have that answer if you're interested.
Because you can do a lot of guessing.
But it's through revlatory information from heaven that brings those kinds of things Into understanding.

It may be fascinating for awhile, but let us focus on the signal rather than the noise.

Nice. That is a big difference. I never like the NIV anyways. I like the older translations lke KJV better.

So, WHEN does this Rev 20 resurrection take place then? Rev 14? Rev 6?
It says they refused the mark.
They were then beheaded in the trib.

The first resurrection, is a resurrection to heaven, for the marriage supper.

That includes Jesus, the saints in paradise resurrected and documented.
The dead in christ of 1 thes 4
And those of rev 20, that is even stared it is looking back to a time during the trib.

If we involve "purpose", it all ties in.

Most here on the board have never understood God's purpose concerning the trib, the rapture, the covenant Jew, the AC, THE harvest of the Jews, ( prophesied in romans 11), the marriage supper, or even "harvest" itself.

Who would populate the millennial kingdom`?

How in the world could you get that wrong, when Jesus himself told us the meaning???

Mat 13
36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth

Who would populate the millennial kingdom`?
Rev 19 has the second coming and slaughter.
The AC and his army are slaughtered. Millions are slaughtered.

It is in Israel.
The population of earth is otherwise in tact.
But the mil also has over a billion or so saints that come from heaven.

Question about the bold, why isn't this at the Lord's return? The Bible links it to the coming of Jesus:

1 Thessalonians 4:15-16
Yes indeed
The "one coming" belief is not bible based.
Not even remotely possible.

It surely was a lame attempt in it's origination, to protect some doctrine.
When it came up, in challenge, they saw they were painted into a corner by false teachers.

A bible teacher can make a fool out of us .
We end up repeating false notions with great authority.
Sad

Thanks Psalm1 for your response. The New Testament is no different from the Old Testament in being in parable form. The time when Jesus bound Satan was at the cross, when he resurrected. That was the time when the field of the world was opened to the gospel and Satan could not stop people from believing unto salvation, because he was bound. That was the time Christians were told that whatever they bind on earth would be bound, and loosed would be loosed. Notice that in Rev 20 when Satan is not bound it is a matter of him going to deceive, it is the spiritual battle. It is not about physical entities fighting physical kingdoms. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal.

I don’t see you practicing what you preached in your post, so nevermind.
Back to your noise.
Been there; done that.

Look around, satan is not bound.
You made that up.

Paul himself has the testimony that Satan is not bound.

Ok.
Nobody has yet supported the "one coming" theory

Omitting the verses challenging the " one coming " theory, is basically agreeing that there are 3 comings. Two of which, Jesus eloquently prophesied.

Can someone Biblically challenge the three comings using the 3 comings verses?

An example would be to challenge Rev 14:14
( Jesus sitting on a cloud holding a sickle, is actually Jesus on a horse holding a sword)

...or whatever the postrib doctrine does with rev 14:14

Another possible challenge would be to insist that acts 1, where the angels declare to the disciples, when observing Jesus ascending to heaven, said :"this same Jesus that you see going up will also return in like manner.
And then, insist that Jesus in a robe dipped in Blood ,holding a sword, with fire coming out of his mouth, wearing a Crown, RIDING ON A HORSE, and accompanied buy millions of white horses, blackening the sky, is actually what the angels were referring to.

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. " I would say that Jesus has the keys now.

What seems to happen to people when they read the Bible is that they are looking for physical circumstances to back up the scripture. They think, this scripture must be talking about a time when you can look around physically and see no more crime or physical war. But it is talking about the victory, instead, for believers in terms of their salvation. Can Satan stop someone from being saved if Christ is for them. No, not at all. He is bound. Will they live forever in Christ. Yes, Christ has paid the price.

Been there done that.
No reasoning with amil grand canyon leaps.

I do: I was intrigued by Rev like most Christians, but also like most Christians through the centuries
I came to realize that it was rather a waste of time to try to figure out the details.

So have fun and when you learn that the purpose of Christ's next coming is harvesting the wheat to heaven
and burning the weeds in hell per Matt. 13:30 we can move on to more important teachings regarding
becoming mature Christians. Happy trails!
