Alright ladies and gentlemen... in responce to a recent discussion in the singles chatroom, I am proposing this question to you all:

How many 30ish persons do you know of that are virgins by choice?

And by "choice" i mean they are attractive and capable of having sx but have deliberatly saved themselves for marriage or some other reason...

I don't think I know any. I know people who have saved themselves until marriage but they got married before 30

He's probably just trying to gather a concensus in order to gauge how much longer he will have to endure being an unmarried virgin.

and no, I personally don't know, or know of anyone who was still at virgin at 30 but I'm pretty sure there are some out there.

I don't know of any 30 year old virgins, male or female. Most of the people I know married before that age.

Thanks for the responces guys and girls. Yea the initial discussion was about waiting till marriage, but digressed into talking about the maturity of singles my age (mid 20's) and so it was suggested that i might want to focus on more mature women (in their 30s). but being a virgin and waiting till marriage as i am, and believing in the words of Christ as i do (Romans 19), i found it incredible to suggest that the prospects for compainionship were any more likely by increasing the age range. only later did it come to light that the person suggestion this found nothing wrong or unBiblical with a virgin giving themselve to someone who had other, previous partners.

any thoughts on the matter?

virginity is spiritual not physical

I can't quite remember what book it is exactly, but in one of Paul's epistles he says that women who are unmarried concern themselves with things of the Church, how to please God. Married women concern themselves with how to please their husband. Says the same thing about married and unmarried men.

This particular passage doesn't talk about sex per say, but it means pretty much the same thing. Paul does talk about virginity in one of his books and how its a spiritual thing. Sorry can't remember which. But its definitely Paul.
 
I know at least 2.

I also know people that are likely to fall into this category but are unconfirmed. I will report back once I confirm this.

most people i know in their 30's are married already, but i do know 3 that aren't married and still hold on to their virginity

At that age, I suspect virgins have decided they don’t want to marry, or they have married and aren’t virgins anymore.

So THAT's the problem. I'm only 4 years away from my 30's, and I do want to get married, and I am still a virgin. So, maybe I'm just really ugly and no one wants me. At least now I know what the problem is. Lol. :D
 
OH Lord...please don't make me wait that long! :eek:

I don't know anybody like that but then again I dont ask everybody, and I know few singles who are in their 30s.
