How should the husband do to impart his life to his wife (Ephesians 5.25)?

The answer sunk in my mind yesterday.

  • “Drink waters out of your own cistern, and running waters out of your own well.” (Proverbs 5.15).
  • “Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice with the wife of your youth.” (Proverbs 5.18).
  • “Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine by the sides of your house; your sons shall be like olive plants around your table.” (Psalms 128.3).

Once the wife is like a fruitful vine, a cistern fraught of water, a well of running waters, the man ought to drink of the provision of the Holy Spirit in the life of the wife. While he invests time knowing the Holy Spirit through his wife, he is dedicating his life to Jesus and to her.

This allow the wife to know better her husband, as well as Jesus’ mission for him and, based on this, she can seek out in Jesus what will make her husband known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land (Proverbs 31.23). In other words, the wife, in this case, can be used so that her husband can be light in this world (Matthew 5.14-16).

So, if the husband is diligent in his work (and his main work is care about his Eden’s garden), he will stand before outstanding people instead of before people of inferior position (Proverbs 22.29).

So, may the husband is always enthusiastic to dedicate his life in order to obtain everything that Jesus placed for him in the most intimate of his wife; and may the wife always be waiting to receive the Holy Spirit and His "water" and "wine" so precious to quench her husband's thirst and fill his heart with jolliness.

Have a good day going over all this.
