How should we pray? (Part 6)
6 – His desire is the best for us and for everyone around us. So, we need to pray always:
• Mat 6:10 -> “Your kingdom come, *Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven*.”.
Don’t mind how hard is the Creator’s will, His will is always the best. Hence Jesus prayed:
• Luk 22:41-42 -> “And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.””.
Especially because, His will edifies us, is delightful and fill us outright:
• Rom 12:2 -> “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”.
It is for this reason that John said:
• 1Jn 5:14 -> “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”.
After all, if we ask according to His will, we will be asking what will manifest His kindness and goodness to everyone close to us. Hence Jesus always considered as His nourishment to do the Creator’s will:
• Heb 10:7 -> “Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”.
• Joh 4:34,35 -> “Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.”.
To do the Creator’s will is so important that Jesus added:
• Mat 12:50 -> “For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
In other words: to be intimate with Jesus we need to do the Creator’s will. Hence:
• Mat 7:21 -> “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”.
