So for the past couple of months, I've had a hard time wanting to read the Bible. I know that we all have those mountain highs and valley lows and I've been through that valley low recently. I continue to read the bible every day as per usual, I just feel like there's something wrong because I don't actually want to read it most of the time. In my spare time, I feel like I should be spending time with God and I just can't get myself to do it. Any thoughts or advice?

You have any friends who you can read the Bible with you? Finding a friend who's willing to read along through the Bible has helped me. We read a certain a book and we ask each other what those Scriptures meant to us- or what we felt while reading it. Having an accountability partner has helped me out getting deeper into Scripture, rather than just reading it because I feel obligated as a christian.lol

I try to read my Bible every night. I don't know about you but I usually try to read it it in order. I've read it cover to cover once and am on my second time. When I start to feel my self just going through the motions just reading I like to mix it up and just flip to a random page and read it. It seems to rejuvenate me and you never know where you'll turn to. I'm not sure if this will work for you but it always works for me. HopeThis helps!

Your journey with God doesn't have to be a consistent jog. Sometimes you'll slow your pace, other times you'll quicken it. I'm not sure about you, but I get bored when I fall into stagnation. In those times, it's good to look for other study material that speaks to you (which is not to suggest you put your Bible on the back burner). A new pastor, apologist, author, etc.

We defer to the Word to the point where some of us forget we have a lot of gifted brothers and sisters that can motivate us, rebuke us, and educate us in their own ways. Keep Scripture as your go-to source, but explore. :)
